Sorry, can't help. Only one 4month DS.

But I have loads of ideas!

Fun bath stuff, clothes, Disney pyjamas, dolls house, dolls, girly lego, anything with Justin Bieber or High School Musical on it, a LeapPad writery-thingamabob... Basically just go into a Toys R Us and pick and choose!

And don't do what my mother was planning on doing for my DS and give bonds, or a pet elephant, or something stupid. IMO these would be good for a ten-year-old, not a child that's 4 and certainly not a child that's barely half a year! Too young to understand - they'd be going around going "Mummy, when is my pet Jaguar arriving?"

Tangle · 24/11/2011 10:51

A doll with hair. That's washable and can be styled (she wants to play with mine, but I just don't like having my hair fiddled with, and live in dread of getting a brush tangled up to the extent I need scissors Blush).

Other bits include a little zip up bag that I'm making her from felt (mainly pink), some books, a french knitting doll and a flower loom. Although one of those 2 might get tucked away until her birthday.

Also on her wish-list are some more toy ponies and a bigger stable to put them in. Oh for the bigger house to store it all!

cantpooinpeace · 24/11/2011 10:51

All I've come to is a nintendo DS or a hamster!!

DD2 (4) is getting Sylvanian bits and walkie talkies. Also have DD1 (7) and DS1 (1) so plenty of play value.

cantpooinpeace · 24/11/2011 10:52

Tangle that's the thing - storage!

Just bought my neice a big Polly Pocket set. My neice played with my DD's when they last visited and loved them. My SIL will love the tiny shoes and accessories! :o

TeaCider · 24/11/2011 10:54

ASDA do a Huge box of crap craft stuff, we got it alongside the portable Crayola easel on their 2 for £20 offer. My Dd is hugely into glueing and sticking so it's perfect for her.

vvviola · 24/11/2011 10:55

We're in the process of moving house/country/continent so we're keeping things as portable as possible!

DD (4 since July) is getting one of the vtech tablet things (added bonus of keeping her entertained on the long long flight in January), a sparkly recorder that she put her eye on in M&S (which will be securely packed in the hold luggage!) and a few books. She'll also get a new pair of pyjamas, a new toothbrush, some puzzles, colours & sweets (all in her stocking - and traditional in our family since I was a baby. My folks will probably do the same for me Grin)

Last year she got one of those vtech cameras & (from my parents) a CD player, both of which were a huge hit and still get regular use, so if she didn't have them already, I'd be considering them IYKWIM.

The only thing she has asked for is a Hello Kitty lollipop. But she isn't sure whether St Nicholas (6 December here, fills kids shoes with sweets) or Santa will bring that. She's getting mixed up between the two at the moment.

cryhavoc · 24/11/2011 10:55

DD is 4 in Feb. She's getting lots of books, lots of Dora paraphernalia (clock, torch, dolls), a doll cot (which I'm looking at as storage for teddies etc), roller skates (Lord help us), a proper watch, and new swimming kit (bag, tracksuit etc).

vvviola · 24/11/2011 10:57

Ooh, Tangle, do you think your DD will be able to manage the French knitting doll? I'm a keen knitter & DD loves playing with my wool (not always with permission) and I've considered a French knitting thing for her a few times, but wasn't sure if she'd manage it.

MollyintheMoon · 24/11/2011 10:59

Gp's are getting mine a dolls house which she'll love.

WidowWadman · 24/11/2011 11:00

My nephew is 4 and we're getting him a board game. HABA has a nice range (they're German, but usually come with English instructions, too)

Another one to consider is Kids of Carcassonne We love playing the adult version, this one has simplified rules, making it easier to break little ones in

MasterOfTheTriforce · 24/11/2011 11:00

a pink ds with hello kitty games.

HipHopOpotomus · 24/11/2011 11:00

DD has just had her 4th birthday so we are drowning in new crap toys already. So for Xmas I'm thinking padding it out a bit with new clothes.

I'd like to get her a nice silver necklace but I'm having trouble sourcing necklaces for young girls so still looking.

They have a fab 'princess' tent on amazon that I'm loving - that will probably be the 'big' gift.

ShowOfHands · 24/11/2011 11:01

DD is 4 and she wants an alarm clock and a hydrangea. Have bought her a Kidiminiz rabbit alarm clock and will get the hydrangea nearer the time.

Have you asked what she wants?

LisasCat · 24/11/2011 11:02

DD's big present this year is a cabin bed, so her baby sister can have her cot bed. This has meant one granny is taking her shopping to choose her new bed linen (sounds boring, but she's really excited about choosing how her room will look). I also let her look through the Vertbaudet catalogue and choose some new clothes (obviously I was acting as Santa's agent, and then passed on the ideas to him).

So basically the big 'thing' for DD this year is that she is allowed to be a grown up girl who chooses how she and her room look, to coincide with the fact she's now at big school.

ShowOfHands · 24/11/2011 11:04

Annoying pink rabbit tat

ifink · 24/11/2011 11:04

Mine wants a make up set and roller skates .....where can you get skates anyone?

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 24/11/2011 11:07

DD is 4, 5 in January. She had DS nintendo ds lite when we replaced his last year.
This year she is having Woody and Buzz, Doggy Doo, Bendaroos, Moon dough,Frustration, Pop up Pirate, An octopus game (cant remember the name) Go Go My walking Pup, Furreal shitzhu, dalmation and one other mini one, various Hello Kitty bits,
We have bought her Biscuit the dog for her birthday and other little bits.

CoffeeGoneColdAgain · 24/11/2011 11:07

Toys R us have a nice selection of branded skates, Ben and Holly etc, and also plain ones, about £15 IIRC

cantpooinpeace · 24/11/2011 11:08

I have asked her and she pretty much wants everything on the adverts. I have got her a plastic little dressing table thingy which she's wanted for yonks.

She does say she wants a DS but DH not keen.

We have an iPad which she uses a lot for games.

If I get a DS (pink) I'm not sure whether to go for a used one off eBay or a brand new one.

I'm so indecisive - I'm starting to annoy myself!
