Watching 'MasterChef' now. I have a thing for beards and anyone men who can cook so he's ticking my box so to speak. He went through a stage of looking alarmingly pale and ill but looks healthier now, may have been on the sunbeds Hmm

Anyone else?

Did anyone see Greg squeeze the panna cotta like it was a breast (intended for the critics) tonight? He's a shady character!

Downnotout · 24/11/2011 22:17

No YANBU
but I challenge the beard thing.

Do you know what is awful? Friend and I scrimped and saved and we went to Le Gavroche for his set lunch (£48 for about 10m courses and a half bottle of wine, offer still running, ask for it for Xmas!)

He came out of the kitchen. He actually came out. And he stopped by our table first of all, and smiled that lovely crinkly smile and asked us what we thought. In an amazing display of wit, intelligence, and foodie knowledge, I said 'it's brilliant, really brilliant'. Friend just grinned at him, somewhat flushed.

He moved on...

FellatioNelson · 25/11/2011 05:00

Hahaha - that's hilarious! One of those moments when you just want to shoot yourself for being such a half-wit. I bet you replay that moment over and over in you head and groan.

(a bit like I do when I think of what I said to Her Supreme Highness Justine when I met her at last year's meet-up. Twas excrutiating.)

JosieRosie · 25/11/2011 14:47

stinkingbishop (fab username!) - I have heard that the £48 set lunch is the best deal in London. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Don't feel bad, at least you got some words out, I would probably just grin and giggle like a moron Grin I knew he did walkabouts during dinner service but never thought he would be there during lunch - must book myself and DP a treat for early next year!

Is it ok if I PM you for some more details?

josie of course!

beatenbyayellowteacup · 26/11/2011 11:13

he is absolutely delicious.

stinkingbishop · 26/11/2011 12:28

If anyone does go...we were utter pigs and despite there being so many courses ordered an extra inbetweener of the famous 'souffle suisseuse' which is a cheese souffle, served with cream, and cheese, and more cream, and more cheese...it's as if God had decided to flavour all the clouds in heaven with cheese for the day.

We asked for one portion and an extra plate so we could share. They gave us two full portions. I thought, cripes, that's another £20...but when we got the bill they'd only charged for one.

And then I got home, and researched it. That single dish, in a lunch which went on for 4 hours, was 1350 calories. But I don't begrudge a single one, best thing I have ever put in my mouth ;)

fellationelson do tell what you said to Justine!!!

Someone is scouring Mumsnet for a story again here!

imoanruby · 30/12/2011 22:35

JosieRosie - thank you!!!! I thought it was just me, he's lovely!!

ReindeerBollocks · 30/12/2011 22:38

He is just so lovely, a bit old for me if I'm honest, but I probably would just because he is so nice.
