I'm watching a box set of Rome atm. It is loosely based on real history, and DH, who knows a lot more about these things than me, keeps telling me what happens - ie (SPOILER ALERT) he told me that Octavian will get to be Emperor and that Brutus would kill Julius Ceasar.

Now, I know I should probably know these things anyway(and when he told me them I remembered that I kinda knew them already but hadn't connected them, iyswim), but it still is a spolier, right?

He did the same with I Claudius too, btw.

I shuld probably watch entirely fictional box sets, but I like the historial ones.

Is like horrible histories with the gore AND the sex left in. Ace.

Hmmm. YANBU, I think. Even though these are famous stories, and you know in the back of your head what will happen, it's easy to get engrossed in the drama and forget. So if he's a big old history boffin, he needs to shh for a while and let you watch your programmes really.

MorelliOrRanger · 18/11/2011 13:37

huh, it's history though (based on) so yes you should know these things, however, why don't you just tell your hubby to stop telling you what happened.

YANBU

Oh I quite enjoyed, "Rome". For me it isn't so much about the plot of a film but the execution: the dialogue, the eye-candy, the sets and the characterisation.

Plenty of people enjoyed "Titanic" and I would hope that most of them knew that yes, the ship did sink at the end.

It's annoying if he's doing it just to show off that he knows what is going to happen (I hate people like this). And you should spoil things for him if he insists on doing it to you.

But otherwise, it's been common knowledge for tens of hundreds of years so it can't really be a spoiler.

HazleNutt · 18/11/2011 13:59

YABU. If you were watching a film about Noah would it be a spoiler if I told you there's a flood coming?

It's so annoying isn't it. I was reading 'The Life of Christ' and my friend told me that he dies in the end. Totally ruined it for me.
