DH family have a habit of ringing late evening/night time. He is on the phone to his dsis at the moment giving her advice on how to use i tunes. I just wish they would ring earlier. DC go to bed at about 8.45 and because of DH and my working hours, I leave at about 7 am and he gets home about 7 pm it is the only time we get together. We have asked them to ring earlier as well but they don't. They don't ring all the time, it is not every night but when they do they are on the phone for hours.

Compared to a lot of the problems I have read on here it seems trivial but it does bug me.

get an answerphone; and turn the ringer off in the evenings.

Oh I totally get this, I hate the phone. Get your dh's agreement and turn it off/screen calls on weekday evenings.

Your DH needs to learn to cut these calls off promptly, if he actually shares your irritation. If he doesn't I don't think you can dictate for how long he may speak to his sister.

Would bug me too. I don't do chatting on the phone - would rather send a text - concise and to the point.

Just ignore the phone or ask them to phone earlier.
