...to tell her, or not telling her? I honestly don't know

Oh God - I don't know what to do. I'm staying with my mum, dad and little sister and the family cat just got hit by a car. We've had her for over ten years and officially she's my sister's kitten, you know the way families do? My mum and dad have rushed off to the vets and I don't know if I should call my sister (who's going out to a party straight from work) and let her know what's happened, or if I should just let her enjoy her night out and if the worst happens she finds out then...

Poor little girl, such a sweet cat. I'm so upset and I don't know what to do for the best? I should just leave it, shouldn't I? She can't get here in time to do anything.

i would leave it up to your parents to tell her

Byeckerslike · 11/11/2011 17:50

Dont tell her now, yes leave it to parents! gutless me

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 11/11/2011 17:50

Never mind. She's dead. My mum called and asked me not to tell her as nothing can be done.

She's an adult though, yes?

I would be devastated if someone didn't tell me about my favourite cat so that I could get the chance to rush to the vets to (maybe) say goodbye. Sad

LaurieFairyCake · 11/11/2011 17:52

crossposted. Too late.

So sorry for your loss Sad

Besom · 11/11/2011 17:53

Sorry.

HeresTheThingBooyhoo · 11/11/2011 17:53

i would let her have her night out first TBH. the cat is gone so there is no chance of her getting there to say goodbye and no decisions to be made WRT operations etc.

MrsTwinks · 11/11/2011 18:36

see if the vet can keep the cat in the cold store until tomorrow so she can say goodbye at least

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 11/11/2011 18:43

Not really her style, MrsTwinks, though I appreciate the thought. Poor old Mum is dreading having to tell her.
