His sort-of stepsons are in a band and are playing a concert tonight, about forty minutes drive from where we live. There's been storms here since wednesday, though, and flood warnings have been issued. I am using this as an excuse For this reason, I don't feel safe driving out to the concert. Hmm DH still wanted to go though, and has just left to go on his own. He'll know loads of people there, but I feel a bit guilty that I backed out. AIBU?

Nope YADNBU.
Ive done the same, well, dh & ds are off to a bombfire & fireworks and ive refused to go with them.
PIL will be there, and i avoid them at ALL costs.

Nope, snuggle on the sofa with a cuppa and watch telly, thats what im doing and i am not feeling guilty one bit.

not really. No need to go if you don't want to (assuming that you are generally supportive towards sort-of stepsons)....

Oh good, that was totally the right answer gigglepin. Being warm and dry and cozy on my sofa seems a much better option than standing around with a load of twenty-year-olds, feeling old and fat and damp.

Oh yeah, sort-of stepsons are fine, Oakmaiden. We regularly have them over for dinner, and I have been to one of their concerts before. I just really didn't want to go out tonight. :o
