A quiche on MN is a term used for a clique, which refers to a group of people, made up of, you know, people..... so yes I guess a clique, although used in the abstract form, could be insulted because of its meronyms.

If in the op you had just said I hate quiches I take your point. But you didn't, you took the piss out of 3 quiches and certainly on ours, mentioned specifics that certain posters on those threads mention, so that takes it beyond just the "inanimate"
