we have been looking for a new house for ages - we are very picky and also quite comfortable where we are. We could however afford to upsize and feel it would be a good investment. Anyway, we found a house, the estate agent suggested that the sellers would accept a price which was a bit lower than the asking price and this price was within our reach. So we put our house on the market, agreed to have people viewing our house, had an offer we can accept, we have a made enquiries about mortgages, and have spent ages dealing with the agents and banks and so on. Turns out the agent got it all wrong- the sellers of the house are NOT accepting our offer, not by far. So a young couple can not buy our house and we cannot buy the bigger house, and everyone involved has wasted lots of time and energy. I'm feeling completely deflated...
