Father beats his teenage daughter and no prison term?

Video uploaded by daughter. (GRAPHIC) daughter uploads vid of father beating her.this was posted on reddit, and getting posted everywhere else on the intanets. fans of physical discpline, no ?

I am spitting mad! I don't care if this thread turns into a 'to hit or not to hit your child' thread. It should be illegal, there is NO excuse! indiscipline your child the correct way.

This 'father' needs to do time. Serious time. As the useless mother.

Here is the story.

"2004: Aransas County Court-At-Law Judge William Adams took a belt to his own teenage daughter as punishment for using the internet to acquire music and games that were unavailable for legal purchase at the time. She has had ataxic cerebral palsy from birth that led her to a passion for technology, which was strictly forbidden by her father's backwards views.

The judge's wife was emotionally abused herself and was severely manipulated into assisting the beating and should not be blamed for any content in this video. The judge's wife has since left the marriage due to the abuse, which continues to this day, and has sincerely apologized and repented for her part and for allowing such a thing, long before this video was even revealed to exist. Judge William Adams is not fit to be anywhere near the law system if he can't even exercise fit judgement as a parent himself. Do not allow this man to ever be re- elected again. His "judgement" is a giant farce. Signed, Hillary Adams, his daughter.

I hope the daughter gets all the help and support she needs. I've been in her situation and it's utterly shit. There are too many fucked up parents about.

I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it, why hasn't he been jailed?

Is beating your child allowed where they live? Or is it because he's a judge?

Im not exactly clear what the purpose of this thread is. yes it is disgusting but in op it states that this happened 7 years ago? Also this WOULD be illegal in the UK, so no, this kind of thing ISNT "allowed" to go on here (not saying it doesnt by the way)

it happened in 2004 when the girl was 16years old but she has just let it out to see.
Poor girl and cant believe that his not in prison, if he did that to another adult i bet they would soon put him away!!

no ILT it wasn't. Sad the bit at the top, written by the girl said the abuse continued after her mum left up until the day that video was posted. it probably happened before that video was taken aswell. both he and the 'mother' seemed pretty comfortable doing it Angry

the bit gets me is the 'mother' says "take it like a grown woman". yet how does she not get the fact that the only reason she was doing it to her was because she wasn't a grown woman, she was a child. she wouldn't have done it to a grown woman.

Right. This was filmed 8 years ago.

The daughter, now 23 has only just uploaded it to you-tube.

So that answers the question why he's not in prison. No one ever brought any charges.

Re the wife. She also abused the daughter but has now filed for divorce due to domestic abuse.

No one knows if the bloke in the you-tube is actually Judge Wotsit.

And I don't buy the line that the mother couldn't help it, she was abused too. It's quite likely that this revolting judge was abused in childhood to be this fucked up - but it's no excuse. Any more, indeed, than it would be for their daughter if she did the same thing to her DC down the line.

Whether he can be prosecuted so late I have no idea; but please, let's hope he is off the Bench and disbarred by Christmas.

And my apologies to the State of Arkansas - my misreading there. This was good ol' Texas.

The mother is a willing participant in the abuse- not just a facilitator. She should go behind bars with her husband.
Does anyone know why the daughter has waited until now to upload the footage?

Horrible discussion re perceptions of racial differences towards beating on the discussion board under the clip. Not OK for anyone to be beaten like that, or to have been beaten in times gone by. Depressing that so many posters on that site think it is reasonable to 'whoop' a child like that.

Is it still normal to beat children like that in America? Surely it isn't anywhere in Europe.

So there we have one example as to why violence and beating as punishment promote a belief in perpetuatijng violence and destroying empathy

"I challenge you to ask any African American if their whippings didn't resemble this when they were growing up " and how such beatings cannot be generally effective given the level of crime committed by the African American population (though I am SURE that black people in the justice system are more likely to have been subject to racist policing and are proven to attract harsher punishments than white people in American courts).

So poster after poster on that comments board supporting violent beating as a punishment while demonstrating it's perpetuating cruelty and ineffectiveness.

All very sad indeed.

Oh, and at the very beginning when the Father says 'get me a belt' you can hear the mother saying, out of the room 'I already spanked her'. So she has already been beaten before the assault caught on film.

All just horrible.
