You know who you are...!

Oh do you now?

TenderlyLovinglyByAGoat · 02/11/2011 15:18

does it make you want to stab them in the head, face, neck and chest in a sustained and frenzied brutal attack?

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:19

bibbity. You're fine if you don't mind being shortened a bit.

OP posts:
Psammead · 02/11/2011 15:19

The amount of funny spellings my name has attracted is, well, moderately large.

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:20

TenderlyLovinglyByAGoat is not passing the Mardy test.

HitTheRoadJack · 02/11/2011 15:20

YANBU.

I am referred to as Jack

ItsonlymeMrsDB · 02/11/2011 15:20

I tend to shorten people's NN anyway. No bother to me how long or short they are.

I don't mind if people shorten mine either. Smile

EndoplasmicReticulum · 02/11/2011 15:21

It's possible to shorten most things. Psammead is difficult because it's hard to see how many letter ms there are in the middle.

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:22

Not Hit then?

OP posts:
MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:23

There is no way, I could be arsed to type out your full name Endo. However long does it take you to log in?

OP posts:
HitTheRoadJack · 02/11/2011 15:24

I tend to use the first letter of their names;

HTRJ-although I probably wouldn't recognise my name like that!

AFuckingKnackeredWoman · 02/11/2011 15:24

Net mums is worse with all the numbers

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:24

Wonders how many "m"s one could possibly squeeze into the middle of a word>

OP posts:
MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:25

Now there's a good example.

Are you:
Woman
AFucking or
AFKW?

OP posts:
Psammead · 02/11/2011 15:27

I do love the username which shortens to BDSM. I always thought it was a reference to her kinky sex-life and my image of her totally changed when I read that it was not.

BroomForMyChin · 02/11/2011 15:27

Does my name pass the Mardy test?

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:29

It's BelleDameSansMerci isn't it? She has a different image when referred to as Belle.

OP posts:
MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:30

BroomForMyChin · 02/11/2011 15:31

I quite like being called broom, I don't know why Hmm

worraliberty · 02/11/2011 15:33

On a forum I used to use years ago, there was a poster called "Come Up Next Time"

It made interesting reading when the Moderators warned everyone not to shorten it Grin

MardyBra · 02/11/2011 15:34

I like your user name Broom. It's also useful as a prompt. (Now where the hell are my tweezers...)

OP posts:
ColdSancerre · 02/11/2011 15:41

Mine is fine. I'm never certain about shortening names when it means you end calling the poster something unpleasant.
