We arranged it months ago, it's now coming up. Nearest hospital is 1 hour in car. On baby no.4. Never gone into labour myself, all others were induced. No problems in this pregnancy or previous ones. But now that I think about it I am worried in case there's an emergency - the children are all looking forward to it so much though.

YANBU Make sure you have a plan in place just in case you do go into labour though.

Personally I think it will be fine to go, but can see why you are worried. Maybe ask your MW what she thinks?

My sister, a mother of five, lives in a remote-ish cottage well over an hour from the nearest hospital. You'll be fine. :)

What OldLady said. People actually do live in remotest Scotland and have babies and everything Wink

Take your notes and make sure you know the best route to the hospital though! But you'll be fine.

It's a hours drive to the nearest maternity hospital to my old home town in Wales. Plenty of babies Grin

I live more than an hour from the closest hospital, it was fine to get there when I had DD. Take your maternity notes with you in case and anything else essential for the birth in case you have to go to the local hospital. Many rural areas (like mine) have air ambulances for emergencies, but you wouldn't need one for a normal birth.
