Example, DS invited us to go to the pub with him this afternoon at 5. This is a tiny pub that really isn't meant for kids, nevermind babies. This is also the time DS has his tea and he takes forever to eat and makes a lot of mess. I said I'd just have to leave it cos there'll be no space for pushchair, DS will want to be out running around, and it'll just get on everyones nerves basically. DP thinks I am making a big fuss for nothing and should just be able to leave the house without thinking of these consequnces, he gets really quite annoyed about it.

In my mind I am just being a thoughtful mother, surely it's better to care about if your DC's are going to be happy somewhere than just drag them out and have them screaming in the pushchair cos they're bored?

YANB. Apart from anything else, you'll have a rubbish time, because of the reasons you state! Hardly a recipe for a relaxing afternoon in the pub!

Perhaps, if DH had sole charge of DS whilst you were out, he'd think differently!
