EmpressOfTheZombieDucks · 28/10/2011 19:55

MenopausalHaze, sit down, have a Wine and a cupcake.

SheGeek · 28/10/2011 19:56

Empress you must be psychic. I've just uncorked a juicy bottle of red since it's Friday night and Wine O'Clock!

JamieComeHome · 28/10/2011 19:56

is MN not a small village??

EmpressOfTheZombieDucks · 28/10/2011 19:59

SheGeek Grin
Jamie of course it is. It's a virtual village. Have a Wine and get your hopes back up.

diddl · 28/10/2011 20:00

"I think the males have fairly funny walks too."

But they´re maybe not inwardly screaming with every step!

JamieComeHome · 28/10/2011 20:00

Whew

diddl · 28/10/2011 20:02

"diddly squat"

Ooh-for a minute I thought that someone was talking about me.

That would be a first-on here, anyway!

LadyEvilEyes · 28/10/2011 20:05

diddl, sorry, re reading the post it does look a bit confusingBlush
What I meant that I got the impression that you and demented are both long term posters so I assumed you knew her history.
That was all.

diddl · 28/10/2011 20:07

I´ve no idea how long I´ve been posting tbh-but no, I don´t "know" demented or her history.

I don´t recognise the name at all-although names rarely register with me.

EmpressOfTheZombieDucks · 28/10/2011 20:09

I'm just glad I'm not a duck. Come and have some Wine, LadyEvilEyes.

ThePopsicleKat · 28/10/2011 20:17

I must confess to calling my boyfriend 'boyface'. He calls me 'girlface'. (To each other, not on the internet).

I really honestly can't see how that, or manshape/womanshape is insultingly objectifying.

HappyMoleDeletedByEvilMole · 28/10/2011 20:20

All this duck information has totally ruined Friends for me......

Poor chick Sad

LadyEvilEyes · 28/10/2011 20:23

I don't like all this sex talk about ducks.
Ducks are cute little quacky things or rather nice with an orange sauce.
People on this thread that are talking about them as sex objects are no better than they ought to be.
And thank you very much Empress, I have a box of wine of which many inroads have been made.

ShellyBoobs · 28/10/2011 20:44

I've somehow missed the "very sweet reason" Dee has for calling her DH Manshape. It makes me boak too.

Oh, the fucking irony!

'Manshape' isn't allowed, but 'boak' is.

What the fuck is 'boak' meant to mean? It's more utterly sickening MN shite.

worraliberty · 28/10/2011 20:50

'Boak' is a very common expression for being sick...always has been as far as I know. Not an MN thing at all? Confused

cantspel · 28/10/2011 20:54

where as manshape is a brand of underpants

admits i had a google of the word manshape Grin

ShellyBoobs · 28/10/2011 20:56

'Boak' is a very common expression for being sick...always has been as far as I know. Not an MN thing at all?

In that case, I apologise unreservedly.

Me and my Friday-wine-tainted big mouth. I thought it was one person's made-up-word versus another. [hblush]

worraliberty · 28/10/2011 20:57

Lol Shelly I'm sad enough to have checked and it's in the dictionary [hblush]

southeastastra · 28/10/2011 20:59

fgs you lot give it up

accept that dee likes to use that word and live with it

if she called her dp 'bumsexshape' you would probably all be whooping with joy

ShellyBoobs · 28/10/2011 20:59

..in the dictionary

Oh my word. What is the world coming to! [hshock]

worraliberty · 28/10/2011 21:01

southeast I think most people have accepted Dee likes to use the word

I think the 'problem' is some people can't accept other people are entitled to discuss the fact they don't like it/can't stand it.

southeastastra · 28/10/2011 21:02

it's obviously more than the word that gets to people

MenopausalHaze · 28/10/2011 21:07

Nope - it's just the bloody word that gets to me. It's absurd and moreover very very icky. And juvenile. And icky.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 28/10/2011 21:07

If someone really didn't want to provoke comment, they'd keep their own counsel on the pet name and the reasons for it. It's really not that difficult to think of a word for a partner that wouldn't invite any questions at all.

The suck-ups annoy me. There's no poster set above any other on a chatboard, albeit you have ones you like and ones you don't like perhaps.

worraliberty · 28/10/2011 21:08

It could be being told they're not allowed to say they dislike it because Dee is a reg and there's a sweet story behind it?

That gets a lot of backs up I think...when people forget not everyone knows this Dee and it's also a public forum where everyone's entitled to their opinion.
