when is it best time to leave a baby for 1.5 weeks??

In the next year I will need to leave my baby to go abroad for a short time. My parents are looking after her. I have some say in the timing - I was wondering what age will cause her least distress/(harm??)
I could go anytime btw 15mths and 2yrs. does anyone have experiene o f this? how did the bnby fare ? what age is best??

ps. tried posting this elsewhere as well, but thought might get more responses here. (am really worried that might cause my baby harm by leaving her for so long!)

Of course you won't do her any harm! She will be fed, warm, dry and looked after. Personally I would do it while she is younger.

I would say older - when you can explain and the child understands you're coming back.

Although I don't think I could have done this, I'm sure she will be absolutely fine, especially if she is used to spending time with them on a regular basis.

DH went away for 2 weeks when DD was about 14months and she didn't seemto know who he was when he came back. That could have been because he hadn't shaved for 2 weeks And she was fine after a few mins!

She'll be fine. Just make sure she is used to them caring for her.

I'm thinking it's not for a holiday? I think the younger the better...at 2 she will miss you more.

It will not do her any harm whenever you go. Ensure she has a good relationship with the people you leave her with, let her have a couple of overnights stays as practice runs... she will be fine.

DS is nearly 2 and I think if it had to be done when he was younger would have been better.
