to want to blame the kids

for breaking the ir computer desk, when I am actually the culprit.

I know I am - but it is embarassing and I know dh will give me grief. [sigh] [hblush]

I just put my foot down clumsily carefully and the base board (where the computer sits) crashed leaving long sharp screws sticking out so it is not fixable. Fortunately it was a £5 from a car boot sale and not a thing of beauty.

Still it is yet more proof of my embarrassing clumsiness that I like to pretend does not exist and oh bugger I have to 'fess up don't I... Sad

Haha yes YABU to blame the kids Grin

Are you sure it's unfixable? Can't you take the screws out and put them where they went originally or is the wood split?

Have you got a dog.....they cant grass you up Grin

Haha!

I have blamed a friend's puppy for 'making a smell' when it was actually me - the puppy was very obliging and promptly did a huge crap! Friends all stood round and said 'we should have known as there was an awful smell!' - little did they know the 'awful smell' was me!

Has it left lots of fragments of wood as well? If so, sounds like chipboard which is easily broken anyway. If he's handy with a scredriver, your DP should be able to fix it too! I would fess up though, and I'm inately clumsy - DH finds it funny now!

if it can't be fixed, have a look here :)

I think YABU to blame the kids. I normally blame the squirrels in this house if things go missing from the food cupboard.....
