dh and i used to get 10quid a week from TC, after july return they say we have been over paid by £900 for previous year, at most we got was £520 that year, so from july rather than ask us to repay we don't get any.
I started new job in mid sept, (6 weeks after july return date), updated details with TC, letter back says we have now been overpaid £1900?

Does anybody know how the system actually works? Plus they can whistle for it.

Haven't got a clue. My son is entitled to TC as he is disabled and working. They screwed him with overpayments twice and now he won't claim it at all. They are a law unto themselves and nobody understands what they are doing or how they do it.

really really painful! Ive just stopped claiming as my little boy is now at school full time and they are still paying me? Is this just because Ive claimed for the current tax year or should I ring then in case they ask for this money back??

Call them cuteboots just to be on the safe side. I called them when I no longer sent DS to after school care. They put my money down immediately.

cuteboots, definitely phone them. I think you get a couple of weeks run on from when the claim stops.

I will call them as this worries me a lot and I really dont think they know what they are doing

You are def NBU.

I am baffled every time documentation in duplicate lands on my mat from them.

Def call them, although you may be none the wiser by the end of the call. Sorry to be negative, but my rage-ometer goes off the scale whenever I am required to engage with them.
