To be annoyed at some items on my friends wedding list

I really don't know if I have a right to be mad at this but I am. My friend is getting married next month and we have discussed the wedding list. She decided to go with white denby. Very nice. She was at my house last month and commented on my nice Jamie Oliver dinner set. It's white with a little stripe pattern. I love it. I have just logged on to her wedding list and there is no white denby. In it's place is Jamie Oliver's entire set! I am a little miffed.

God I love Beryl stuff. I got a coffee pot for a quid at a fete. I would love some cups and sauces. In green.

Here you go Katie and Pootling - fight it out for this lot. A bargain at £7.50.

I remember a friend of my mum's having that set, limitedperiodonly. It was called Eternal Beau, and Argos sold it.

purpleturtletoise · 20/10/2011 15:46

Oh yes, my aunt and uncle had that one, I think. Definitely seems familiar!

lol - I love Denby. Denby every time. Jamie is fashionable. Denby is timeless. But the coloured stuff is better. (Guess what I have?!) I can see why you're pissed off though.

Be flattered. Imitation is the highest form of compliment.

PootlingAndDoodling · 20/10/2011 16:07

Oh i am tempted - it would only be a several hour journey to Wiltshire (no P&P)

purple -your last link - did it have 'ridges and nobbles' where the pattern was?

PootlingAndDoodling · 20/10/2011 16:08

I want to make custard in the 1/2 pint jug ....

purpleturtletoise · 20/10/2011 16:11

Not really, Pootling. Some of the pieces were the brown colour with a sort of ridged effect - almost stripes - but there wasn't much of a ridge to the actual pottery, IYSWIM.

purpleturtletoise · 20/10/2011 16:12

There's a fair bit of Beryl on Ebay. Can't imagine why.

KatieMortician · 20/10/2011 16:40

No taste. Obviously

oldraver · 20/10/2011 16:54

Pru Oh I love that tea set

I fell in love with the Denby Monsoon Cosmic and drooled over it for ages a week or so. I saw it in Debenhams at the weekend and wasnt as impressed
