Our local small Sainsburys stocks them, we do them for our guests breakfasts, if I am feeling keen I make them.

I reckon my Norn Irn ma could make a mint selling Ni care packages on eBay! Grin

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_lemonade this is the link for brown lemonade. I saw it for sale in Tescos the other day in a PLASTIC BOTTLE! Brown lemonade should only be purchase from a man driving a large lorry in the street!

notimetotidy · 20/10/2011 21:22

Oh, and it must also be in a glass bottle.

An apple tart for Halloween, made on a dinner plate and full of money wrapped in greaseproof paper.

Aw yes I know what Soda bread is. My SIL is irish and his mum always gives him homemade soda bread to bring home. I don't like it. It tastes funny!
(She makes nice scones though so all is not lost!)

I lurve soda bread. I am lucky enough that my life fell apart, my marriage dissolved, I lost my home and my job, but now live round the corner from a bakery that does excellent sodas and treacle sodas.

Not only that, but apparently Sainsbury's Basic Tea Bags are brill and only cost 29p.

I have arrived in heaven.

You can get Veda in Asda, at least you can near me in sunny S Beds.
Nearly passed out with happiness when I saw it, DD (8 and English-born) has been well indoctrinated brought up and insisted we bought two loaves in case they never had them in again :o

lettucesoup · 20/10/2011 22:16

I too at halloween had dinnerplate appletart with money hidden,

wrapped in greaseproof paper or tinfoil and once a penny almost swallowed by my english granny who didn't get the norn iron tradition.

I haven't got a baldy I haven't heard that in years!

Angelico · 20/10/2011 22:18

Oh God, Amen to that! Toasted soda and butter, hot tea and a nice turf fire on a sh*tty cold night. Praise Jeebus!
