Have tried the powder stuff, and the spray. Neither have got those tomato based sauce stains out of white shirts.

Ace is the best stain remover.

Or aibu and it works for you? Maybe its the temperature I put the wash on? Which is usually a hot wash.

YANBU. The Ariel stain remover is proper shit. Even when used with Ariel powder. I use Vanish Oxi Action (the whites one) when needed but to be fair the normal Ariel washing powder usually gets most of our stains out.

YABU if you believe adverts on the telly :)

PS-rub tomato based stain with a babywipe first-and then wash as normal. Even Ace doesn't work properly.

I do like Ace though.

Some products claim they can get the stains out of Middlesex but Ace is the only one that works for me.

another Ace fan, keep meaning to claim money back as Ariel not only didnt work but my white socks came out wet and still stained on the bottom and DHs workshirt was also wet and not ironed! not what the adverts said it would do < huffs and hoists bosom>

But I am a bit of a slattern
And have never been treated to the delights of an "ace" wash.

I like Vanish and Shout but stain removers are too expensive so use bog standard washing soda.
Hang your white shirts on the line if you've got one to fade the stains or in a sunny window.

Biotex - butchers use it to soap their aprons - its removes everything. Or soda crystals

Well Ace has bleach in it doesn't it? So it's bound to be good for whites.

I find Ariel stain remover quite good, as long as you spray it on when the stain is fresh and then wash soon after.

Sunlight is absolutely the best stain remover for all sorts of stains.

Napisan is where it's at for stain removal - not just poo based stains either!

Is Ace just for whites?
I use ecover laundry bleach for them and it does the trick!

my ex spanish MIL used to put her tea towel and towels out in full sunlight before washing. mind you it was the canary islands. that woman could get shit out of the biggest shit stained thing you ever saw. she had magical powers. i do the thing of watching my daughters socks as she goes to school and wonder if I can just find the right thing to get them super white. HHHHEEEELLLPPPP ME I AM IN THE FIFTIES OVER HERE....

I use Ariel Stain remover and find it works better than the vanish one and any stains left disappear while hung out on the line!

I think it's the best one ever, the one for colours and whites is absolutely brilliant.

Napisan is my absoulte favourite, followed by Oxiaction white. Don't like Ace and not impressed by Ariel.

blimey, i didn't think that such a shitter than shit stain remover could cause such interest.

What disappoints me is that Ariel Excel Gel and the other Ariel products I like very much, so it is terribly shit of the company to be so shit with just one of their products. If I were them, I would remove it from the shelves until such a time that it really does remove stains.

For those asking about Ace, yes you can use it on coloured and all sorts. It get the dc footie kit stains out without a prob.

Sunshine - was available a couple of weeks ago but now out of stock until May 2012...

I was so pissed off about how bad Ariel was that I wrote to trading standards about their adverts. I got a standard letter back but didnt hear anything more.
