I was driving through Birmingham earlier, on a busy dual carriageway with a 40 limit.

A man ran across the road, between me and the car in front (narrowly made it). He was pushing a pushchair with a small boy (18 months ish) standing up facing backwards. There was a pelican crossing about 50m away.

AIBU to have been shocked and stunned by this carelessness?

YABU. Playing chicken on busy roads is my top activity with kids.

I moved to Brighton a month ago and the amount of people I've nearly hit on Lewes Road (with pedestrian traffic lights every few hundred yards) because they've run out in front of my car is unbelievable. I got really angry at one the other day as she had two 8-10yo girls holding her hands and she ran across dragging them along into the side of my car. If I hadn't of swerved I would have hit all three of them and instead nearly hit a parked car
