I was driving through Birmingham earlier, on a busy dual carriageway with a 40 limit.

A man ran across the road, between me and the car in front (narrowly made it). He was pushing a pushchair with a small boy (18 months ish) standing up facing backwards. There was a pelican crossing about 50m away.

AIBU to have been shocked and stunned by this carelessness?

Shakey1500 · 15/10/2011 18:58

I am of the anti-judgy brigade. So yes I am asking. OK with you?

I think it was perfectly fine behaviour.

Shakey1500 · 15/10/2011 19:02

You asked if YWBU to feel shocked etc.

Shakey1500 · 15/10/2011 19:02

YABU. Playing chicken on busy roads is my top activity with kids.

confusedpixie · 15/10/2011 19:07

YANBU. I moved to Brighton a month ago and the amount of people I've nearly hit on Lewes Road (with pedestrian traffic lights every few hundred yards) because they've run out in front of my car is unbelievable. I got really angry at one the other day as she had two 8-10yo girls holding her hands and she ran across dragging them along into the side of my car. If I hadn't of swerved I would have hit all three of them and instead nearly hit a parked car Angry

Why are people so bloody stupid?! Especially with their kids?!

I was at a zoo today and a woman was dangling her baby over the penguin pool (which is quite deep). The penguin-feeding woman had to point out to her that it was quite a dangerous thing to do. Some people just don't see risk
