What is it with this bunch of sinister rabble?

Sweatily huddled together, muttering and sighing to themselves in the shadowy corners of MN.

Watching with wide eyes and adrenaline pumping as yet another OP goes down with five or six posters snarling and ripping at the fleshy parts of their dilemma, whilst another bangs the back door on their arse.

Occasionally tempted to post by particularly juicy dreadful threads, the innocent start their posts 'I'm usually just a lurker, but...' takes on a different meaning when you have the knowledge it's a sign to others of their ilk that The Day of Reckoning is near.

On the appointed day, it has been prophesised that The Lurkers (who outnumber posters 6 to 1) will be stirred from their graves self doubting insecurity and kill us all horribly all take the plunge to post at once, this will set in motion a state of affairs so terrible, I tremble at the power.

So let's have a look at you while you reassure us the rumours aren't true.

Or maybe someone who's escaped this groups clutches can enlighten us as to the reason they decided to live this shadowy existance, and how they managed to break away?

Either way

SPEAKETH LURKER! REVEAL THY EVIL PLANS!

Oh... I think from some of the comments here we ARE planning an uprising....

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDawn · 07/10/2011 23:12

re Pom Bear sales - I can't actually eat them as it would be cannibalism, so we get the cheapo imitation ones from Aldi.... but I should think there would be a few people who had a sneaky pack or three "just to try" and were sucked in and are now helpless addicts in the grip of the demon pull of the Pom Bear, doomed forever to crave the salty crispy beary goodness.....

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2011 23:18

I think all the doubters will find that my 1:6 ratio is based on very, very serious research.

I read a post whose poster had read about a poster who was listening to the radio about a woman whose neighbours aunty heard from a man she worked with that his brothers friend from uni was on fb with someone who worked on the project.

And that's good enough for me.

Nevertooearlyforcake · 07/10/2011 23:21

but what do you have to do to have a post deleted by MNHQ?

AgentZigzag · 07/10/2011 23:21

As we're on the subject of cannibalism crunchy yummy 'ooo look at their little belly buttons' Pombear, would it be inflammatory of me to start a thread asking if eating the placenta is classed as cannibalism do you think?

It's something I've wondered, often, but not often enough to be considered a bit weird about the subject.

OP posts:
PrincessFiorimonde · 07/10/2011 23:21

I'd never even heard of a Pom Bear before I saw that thread. Still haven't ever seen one (apart from PomBearAtTheGatesOfDawn, of course.)

PrincessFiorimonde · 07/10/2011 23:24

Nevertooearlyforcake - well, you could try mentioning Mitmoo. That usually works.

Otherwise, just make a nasty comment about another poster. That sometimes works. Wink

I'm torn now Maryz, between knowing you're a lovely poster and wanting my thread to seem urban and edgy...

What would you do?

OP posts:
KnockKnockWhosThereIDidAp · 07/10/2011 23:48

It's been ten minutes since the last post. Bollocks!

No but I wanted to say, this thread is lovely! And I'm not a lurker, I'm a regular but I'm trying out the freedom of new names! This is my third in as many days. It is reeeeeeelaxing!

headzookeeper · 07/10/2011 23:59

I am a very occasional poster, but a long time lurker June 2008 apparently. Even I didn't realise I'd been lurking that long. Blush
I like it here in the dark though, I get to watch all the comings and goings, find advice I didn't realise I needed, laugh at the insane posts and stay safely away from any low flying buns and errant flames.

Placenta isn't cannibalism because once the baby is delivered, the placenta has served its purpose and is no longer required. The mother and baby will manage just fine without it so it's lunch Grin Historically back in the mists of time, (and with animals still) the mother would eat it, because she could reclaim some of the nutrients it had drained from her body, and she needed them to feed the baby.

ConstantVigilance · 08/10/2011 00:13

hi, I've been lurking for ages.

I have posted a couple of posts in very safe threads, although I did have a bit of a disagreement in a Grand National thread.

I am too much of a chicken Blush
