What is it with this bunch of sinister rabble?

Sweatily huddled together, muttering and sighing to themselves in the shadowy corners of MN.

Watching with wide eyes and adrenaline pumping as yet another OP goes down with five or six posters snarling and ripping at the fleshy parts of their dilemma, whilst another bangs the back door on their arse.

Occasionally tempted to post by particularly juicy dreadful threads, the innocent start their posts 'I'm usually just a lurker, but...' takes on a different meaning when you have the knowledge it's a sign to others of their ilk that The Day of Reckoning is near.

On the appointed day, it has been prophesised that The Lurkers (who outnumber posters 6 to 1) will be stirred from their graves self doubting insecurity and kill us all horribly all take the plunge to post at once, this will set in motion a state of affairs so terrible, I tremble at the power.

So let's have a look at you while you reassure us the rumours aren't true.

Or maybe someone who's escaped this groups clutches can enlighten us as to the reason they decided to live this shadowy existance, and how they managed to break away?

Either way

SPEAKETH LURKER! REVEAL THY EVIL PLANS!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/10/2011 22:28

Hedley.. screenshotting would be a good idea, you never know what you may be accused of in teh future, so tis wise (wise I tel thee) to keep records...

Constant vigilance.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/10/2011 22:30

HA! what did I do to deserve such contempt Maryz? Wink

I maybe young ish but I am wise ish

UnderwaterSquirrels · 07/10/2011 22:31

I lurk...I occasionally post...I return to plotting for the day of reckoning lurking again.
I'm mainly here to learn more creative forms of swearing Grin

DavenotChas · 07/10/2011 22:32

Pfft, conspiracy theories about an uprising of lurkers aside, I'm just too lazy to formulate a reply. I do nod my head and snigger a lot though. Can i stay lurking?

PrincessFiorimonde · 07/10/2011 22:32

Hedley, I know you aren't just a lurker as I have Seen You Before.

Clue: you have beautiful hair.

larakitten: what a nice name.

I agree with afternoonsandcoffeespoons.
I post occasionally but not enough for anyone to recognise or remember me. Plus, I generally take so long to type my reply that everyone's already said what I want to say.
And i'm not as witty as you lot.
I don't deserve to be anything but a lurker

I lurk. Mostly because I am quite dull and the app thingy on my phone is there...

I was on another parenting site and came for a look here after a spat between the 2 sites.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/10/2011 22:37

newbies... dont be afraid of the cunt word, it can be used to great effect.

An ideal response to our lovely Maryz split comment here could be...

Off you fuck, cuntychops.

(as coined by our lovely Reality)

AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/10/2011 22:38
Grin
AmazingBouncingFerret · 07/10/2011 22:39

luffs you too Maryz!

Cant stay and play though.. Sad DD is now crying...

BonnyBanks · 07/10/2011 22:39

I don't lurk... I stand elegantly in the shadows only occasionally stepping into the light and then spoil it all by ranting

hermionejgranger · 07/10/2011 22:40

I lurk. And laugh a lot. And wish I was a bit braver. But mostly laugh a lot.

Oh - and used "fuck the fuck off to the far side of fuck" on a social networking site the other day. I do post sometimes but only on the preggy threads at the moment. Off to read the REAL mumsnet rules thread that someone posted the link to now...

Huzzah.

JockTamsonsBairns · 07/10/2011 22:41

Lurkers outnumber regular posters by 6-1 you say?

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 07/10/2011 22:51

Ooh ooh whattodoo agrees with me! I feel like I've arrived!

Pollykitten · 07/10/2011 22:51

Best part of a bottle, am I still allowed to lurk?

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 07/10/2011 22:54

whattodoo just read the rest of your post (I got a bit distracted by the agreement), you deserve more than to be a lurker! Posting is your future.

ShouldDoZombieKilling · 07/10/2011 22:54

I started as a Lurker but am getting braver and have started posting here and there but not enough so anyone will know me!

BonnyBanks · 07/10/2011 22:57

My lovely DH googles the 'Never Google' topics for me so I don't to bleach my eyesballs...

OTOH my appreciation of his loveliness has increased massively since I'm discovered what arses some poor MNers have to put up with... :(

BonnyBanks · 07/10/2011 22:58
  • I've discovered (obviously)
mathanxiety · 07/10/2011 23:01

Outnumbered 6 to 1?

Makes it sound like a rodent infestation - 'for every one you see there are 6 behind the fridge'.
