To think womenkind are a truely nasty species

I saw two mothers at a church group with babies who were roughly six months. One of them was bottlefeeding and had decided to introduce solids at 3 months, the other was still exclusively breastfeeding at 24 weeks. The lady who had introduced solids was very vocal about her decision to introduce solids and was suggesting that the other mother was somehow starving her child by delaying weaning. The mother who was waiting to wean was equally nasty and told the other woman that she was wrecking her baby's health by stuffing it with wallpaper paste.

I felt it was sad that here were two women who were both insecure and it was sad that they could not agree to disagree on parenting decisions. It was sad that they could not at least try to be friendly. The world would be a boring place if we always agreed.

It is sad that many women respond to bitchyness with more bitchyness.

She didn't have a point because her premise was flawed; and I think this thread has been gently witty.

grumblinalong · 05/10/2011 19:47

Op is def a regular...and usually pretty benign. Perhaps she really is ver ver tired today. Anyway I have never ever seen a ff v bf debate in rl. Thought it was just a mn thing. Bunfight thread on Sunday night about this was typical

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/10/2011 19:53

I saw two blokes once.

Off their faces on glue and cider they were.

Talking absolute shite.

They ended up fighting eachother in the middle of the road.

I didn't think that they were indicative of the entire male gender. Was I wrong?

Strange title for this thread. 2 women doesn't really equate to womankind...

GrimmaTheNome · 05/10/2011 19:57

Dione - of course not.

Most of them can manage the shite and fighting without glue.

scottishmummy · 05/10/2011 20:11

what a sweeping generalisation to make.based on overhearing 2 strangers arguing.incidentally how on earth based on yon wee vignette did you ascertain that here were two women who were both insecure

well dont go near the feeding threads then, that are are full on aggro and accusations of who is killing their baby .they even have links and dubious research to "prove" it too

INeedAHipHoperation · 05/10/2011 20:17

I recognize the OP's name.

I accidentally got caught in the middle of a blw/tw barney once. It was some ugly shit.

scottishmummy · 05/10/2011 20:25

ugly shit that sums up feeding threads really

Another vote for the Davros/Dalek thing.

smelli · 05/10/2011 20:38

two mothers with young babies being a bit spikey..hmm..maybe they were just really tired, reallytired?

northernrock · 05/10/2011 21:02

Yea, womankind is riddled with evil witches, truly.
Best remedy for this kind of satanic behaviour:
Put both FF mum and BF mum in the ducking chair. Whichever one drowns, wins, as she is less evil than t'other.

This.

Also, how can womankind be a species when it belongs to homo sapiens sapiens?

jugglingwithpumpkins · 08/10/2011 11:14

Another couple of things about the weird title -

That would be womankind I take it, not womenkind ?

And truly rather than truely ?

OP reveals limited intelligence in title as in deductions made from observations !

< retreats (humbly but with secret pride and Grin) to pedant's corner >

  • And I say that as someone with possible mild dyslexia in both myself and DD.
So, dyslexic friendly, but sexist unfriendly !
