To think womenkind are a truely nasty species

I saw two mothers at a church group with babies who were roughly six months. One of them was bottlefeeding and had decided to introduce solids at 3 months, the other was still exclusively breastfeeding at 24 weeks. The lady who had introduced solids was very vocal about her decision to introduce solids and was suggesting that the other mother was somehow starving her child by delaying weaning. The mother who was waiting to wean was equally nasty and told the other woman that she was wrecking her baby's health by stuffing it with wallpaper paste.

I felt it was sad that here were two women who were both insecure and it was sad that they could not agree to disagree on parenting decisions. It was sad that they could not at least try to be friendly. The world would be a boring place if we always agreed.

It is sad that many women respond to bitchyness with more bitchyness.

Bonkazoid.

You should have swapped their babies - that would've shown them!

Sevenfold · 05/10/2011 16:17

yabu for making a sweeping statement about all woman, based on 2 woman

jugglingwiththreeshoes · 05/10/2011 16:20

Agree with grimma it was probably the location that was at fault Grin

I went to a community harvest lunch at the weekend, organised by the church - as we all took our places around the village hall my daughter "saved" a place for one of her BF's who was still milling about seeing other friends. Cue grumpy, middle-aged man, wife, DIL? and baby come along and man asks if seat is free. I say "actually we're saving it for someone". Am then interrogated as to whether the person is here or not. I get confused and stressed and say "well, she's not actually here" to which he sarcastically replies " So, you're saving a seat for someone who's not even here, instead of giving it to someone who is. That's a warm Christian welcome !Angry" Fortunately perhaps they then move on before I can say more. As my DD pointed out one chair wouldn't have been much use to them anyway. Was a bit like, how dare the children have seats when I've nowhere to put my large fat arse place my noble posterior !

< Ha,ha,ha. > ( Did upset me a bit though at the time Hmm - feel better for venting ! )

Whatmeworry · 05/10/2011 16:20

Ah, the monthly BF/FF thread, to join the monthly Big Kid Buggy and Smacking threads - and its still Week 1 !!

Aislingorla · 05/10/2011 16:21

Totally unacceptable comment! But would there be so much outrage if someone posted a negative sweeping statement about all men? (happens all the time on this board)

Paschaelina · 05/10/2011 16:21

I can't believe I just wasted a minute of my life reading that bollocks. What a load of made up horseshit.

glastocat · 05/10/2011 16:26

What a load of old shit.

CupOfBrownJoy · 05/10/2011 16:31

OP's done a bunk, interestingly Hmm

stripeywoollenhat · 05/10/2011 16:31

utter cunts, to a woman. life would be much nicer if they were kept in their kitchens, barefoot and whatnot... or what hully said, with the daleks.

Tyr · 05/10/2011 16:33

Another hit and run polemicist.

Arse.

pictish · 05/10/2011 16:34

That never happened did it OP?

bollocks

jugglingwiththreeshoes · 05/10/2011 16:40

Still, I got to tell my churchy story which was quite cathartic. Any thoughts on my tale of Christian brotherhood ? ( Because it couldn't be sisterhood in those circles could it ?)

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 05/10/2011 16:43

That conversation sounds more made up than an episode of eastenders.

mummyandpig · 05/10/2011 16:47

What? Grin at "stuffing it with wallpaper paste" though.

Flowerista · 05/10/2011 16:50

Pleased you were able to get that off your chest Juggling

corlan · 05/10/2011 16:52

Yeah, sounds like you made this up.

You shouldn't make things up because next time you tell me something I might not believe you and maybe it will be true but I won't believe you.

Did I ever tell you the story about the boy that cried wolf?

(Sorry - just started to give you the speech I gave my 4 year old this morning)

booyhoo · 05/10/2011 16:57

ok so two women were nasty to each other and from this you have concluded that all women are "a truely nasty species" (BTW women are 1 gender of the human species, not a separate species from men)? there is no logic to the conclusion you have drawn i therefore conclude that you are an idiot, now are you male or female so i know which gender to make a sweeping generalisation about?

Whatmeworry · 05/10/2011 17:11

ok so two women were nasty to each other and from this you have concluded that all women are "a truely nasty species"

It is well known that the plural of anecdote is data :)

Trills · 05/10/2011 17:15

That's not what species means.

YABU

WilsonFrickett · 05/10/2011 17:18

And so in response to this bitchyness you pop on here for a bitch Hmm

akaemmafrost · 05/10/2011 17:21

Bollocks.

LadyBeagleEyes · 05/10/2011 17:21

I think Op was hoping to start a BF/FF bunfight by stealth.
Or is it all women are bitches?
Or is it anti church?
I can't decide but the anecdote is totally made up

MadameOvary · 05/10/2011 17:23

OP is away to post in Nethuns.

Salmotrutta · 05/10/2011 17:23

I think I might take up churchgoing if it's so entertaining ....

GrimmaTheNome · 05/10/2011 17:36

I think it happened. The two women were obviously reallyreallytired, dealing with babies either starving or suffering indigestion from wallpaper paste ingestion. And the OP is reallytired .... none of them representative of womankind, well rested and rational ... er...
