bought dcs clarks shoes online from a website after getting them measured in clarks

have bought dd2 who is 2 years old clarks trainers in a 5.5 e which is what she measured
have ordered dd1 boots in an 8.5g what she measured

good getting them online as cheaper and different choice
bad as can check they fit in a shop

You know they have special Clarks internet monitors who will come round and demand the difference in price from you? Plus the fine?

Seems perfectly reasonable to use their fitting service and then buy their shoes online - they are still making a sale. However, I don't find the measurements too reliable - my DD always measures as an F but needs a G.

Don't think YABU or YANBU, I don't think that is really appropriate...your children's feet, your decision. 'Properly fitted' shoes are not compulsory.

The only way YABU is if you do not check the fit yourself when they arrive. The fitters in Clarks always say the measurement are a starting guide and it varies with style to style. Ds measured a 12.5 F this time but required a 12.5 G when actually fit checked in style chosen.

do clarks do online?
when they are so keen on proper measuring? how can you properly measure when buying online?

I though Clarks online only delivered to one of their shops, to make sure you go in to collect the shoes and make sure they fit properly?

I was planning to do the same next time DD needs shoes as I like the clarks shoes and their fitting service but our local store's selection of toddler shoes is rubbish and they have more variety online.

Oh yes - you can only get adults shoes home delivered.

So actually, getting your kids measured before ordering online is exactly the right thing to do.

I get DS's feet measured at Clark's, make sure he is wearing wellies so I can say "Oh he is in that size" and buy his shoes from TKMaxx or elsewhere online. DH once trained as a shoe fitter and taught me what to do. Seems to work.

I went off buying direct from Clarks when they left their store room door open one day. They has a clok counter thing which said "This hour's target" and the manager put up sales from about 5 to 12 and both the customers in the shop (including me) starting being hassled to buy pumps, slippers and wellies too.

shoes werent bought direct from clarks from another website
when i received them checked they fitted as best as i can felt where toes were,
ran my hand over top of shoe
pulled them at heel to make sure they dont fall off
what do you do then bike?

also went on clarks website shows u step by step pictures have done all the steps
check toes
check width
checked depth
checked they dont come off

I bought them of eBay, as new for £7.50. Couldn't find her size elsewhere.

YANBU, as long as you're able to check the fit when they arrive. The fit varies between styles, so the size as measured may not always fit, depending on the shoe.

Clarks measured my DD feet as a 3g which was odd as all the other shoes she had tried on en route to the shop were size 5, when i pointed this out to the sales lady in Clarks she insisted her measurement was correct.

Out came the shoes and lo and behold they didnt fit, funnily enough neither did the 4g hmmmmmmmm i now go elsewhere for my DD.

I get them measured in Clarks and then buy elsewhere (usually Ebay either brand new or very lightly worn). I know, I know, each child wears shoes slightly differently but really, in the grand scheme of things I don't think it makes much difference. I refuse to pay £28 for a pair of shoes that will be worn for two or three months... school shoes OK, they usually last a good six months, I can just about cope with that!

Used to think Clarks were the be all and end all, but have heard loads of stories about shoes falling apart, inconsistent measuring, and general standard slipping, so now I shop around to save some cash.
