as a teen i was a goth. black lipstick and dark attitude Blush i had my DS at the age of 18 so i 'grew' up and dressed as what my mum would call normal but in the last few months my pink converse shoes have secretly been finding their way on to my feet beneath my jeans with an excuse of "they're comfy for driving" but i cant let go of my punk rock style and have been craving it for years! i dont mean black lippy etc, just flared jeans and wanting to get my pink guitar out Blush just have an 'individul' sense of style?
(as you can see pink is my fav colour lol)

im 23 now with 2 DC am i being silly to not be able to let go of my style? DP hasnt said anything Hmm

i REALLY should have name changed!! Blush

Wear what you like! I do, and I'm 28. I have my moments of thinking 'am I dressing like a teenager here?' then swiftly followed by 'ah Fuck it Grin'

I used to have loads of ear piercing but took them out apart from two, but just got
My cartilage re-pierced a couple of days ago Wink I like my mini skirts, biker boots and Manic Street Preachers satchel.

i'm 36. On Monday i went out in DM's, bright red tights, a t-shirt with a design famous for being worn by a Sex Pistol, and a pair of vintage grey suede Lederhosen.
I did years of 'normal' when i worked in retail and looking different wasn't acceptable.
Now my appearance isn't dictated by work i'm right back to the eclectic style i've always had.
Next week i'm having my hair cropped in preparation for a return to dyeing my hair a vivid colour.

You are very young! My patients are mainly over 60 - most are 80 - 95 yrs so any 60 - 75 yr old are called 'young women' by us staff.
Some are very stylish for their age - miss sixty glasses, per una, lots of pink, coloured hair cropped combats etc. Although i got a shock when i helped a 67 yr old onto a bedpan - & was confronted by a pubic tattoo. Eek.

Good god you are 23. Embrace your youth and wear what the hell you like.

I was 50 last week and did this mornings school run in silver and pink converse.
Please tell us what clothes your mum feels are 2 normal enough for a 23 year old

At 23 I had to wear a baggy 'uniform' tshirt & uniform trousers to work - very unflattering. So outside work, I rebelled - by dressing in a forties' 'sexy secretary style' - long blonde curls, red lipstick, heels, tight pencil skirts & little pastel coloured cardis. My Mum did however love it but then I wasn't rebelling against her, just against my unfeminine work clothes.

My uniform now is a nice tunic with better trousers but I can't wear jewellery & have to wear my hair in a bun. So outside work it's on with the silver jewellery, the hair extensions, skinny jeans etc.
