...a small child to feed?

My son woke me up at about midnight (he's 6). Can I get back to sleep? Can I bloody hell.

Just a moan really.

I'm up, but I'm on the west coast of Canada and its only 10.30pm.. although, I'm thinking of heading to bed soon.

Wack-a-Mole.. Grin Its a gong show over here some nights getting the girls to bed, but you can't explain to a 4 month old that its her 2.9 year old sisters bath and story time, so she just keeps on crying on and off in the sling.

I heard Canada got smoked by NZ but in all fairness, its not Our sport... that would hockey! lol

Lie-in's... seems like those went to the wayside when I had DD2; for about a week though, I managed an hour, 6-7am, to myself, but the girls caught on to that fast... mom is up, must go see her. 6am and both girls are full on... I'm lucky if I get to pee before the gong goes off for my day. BAH

Well I managed to fall back to sleep briefly but the pesty dog was sick twice more. I had to get up and clean it as i'd be guaranteed to step in it when I finally get out of bed (dog sleeps on bedroom floor)

My eyes are burning so I'm going to take my chances with another nap. Fingers crossed I get some more sleep as i'm going gym in a few hours.

fluffystabby · 02/10/2011 06:46

My dog fell off the bed the other night - he sleeps at the bottom of my bed, I woke to the feeling of the duvet moving, and at that he slid off the bed onto the floor.

Stupid mutt. Grin

EttiKetti · 02/10/2011 06:52

I'm being attacked from all sides by DS, who's in my bed as he was unwell last night, most unlike him. It's a huge bed, DH is in DSs bed, so why have I been woken up by DS hitting me with various body parts, all bloody night?!

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2011 07:00

I love to say jurisprudence but I have no idea what it means. It's just something I used to liberally sprinkle in when people would take the piss when I was a blonde.

"Yes, ermm...jurisprudence...if you'll look into Paradise Lost the interesting thing about Milton, I think, is...ergo...quantum physics...jurisprudence....proclivity...what Dante really meant...jurisprudence."

:o

5BottlesOfShampoo · 02/10/2011 07:06

Haven't been able to sleep. :( At all. DS will be up in an hour or so, so not sure trying now is worthwhile.

fluffystabby · 02/10/2011 07:17

Cheerfulyank - Grin

I have no idea either... which is a problem since I'm supposed to know or I won't pass this module of my degree Wink

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 07:44

Back. I managed a full 1.5 hours sleep until the fucking "sun" came up and the boys raced into my room all bright eyed and bushy tailed.

All children now fed and watered and I can get back to some inane chat whilst propping my eyelids open with matchsticks.

Ettiketti I have the luxury of a King Size bed to myself (most nights), but I still sleep teetering on the edge like I did when I was married Confused.

BikeRunSki · 02/10/2011 07:51

I have been up/awake most of the night.
36+6 wks pg, Braxton Hicks all night.
DH went out at 5.30am and woke up DS (3).
Grrr. Can barely keep my eyes open.

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 08:06

BikeRunSki, that sounds awful. Mind you, I'm starting to feel slightly grateful it wasn't just me awake most of the night...

The hibernating bear in my bedroom kept me up all night, so gave in at 6am and came downstairs only for the bear with a sore head to follow me. Then just as I thought I'll head back to bed, the bear with a sore head goes back to bed, moaning I'm ignoring him.

unpa1dcar3r · 02/10/2011 08:11

2 boys; 13 n 14. 14 yr old doesn't sleep, 13 yr old gets up around 5am every day. I have to get up with them in case they burn the house down (which has almost happened more than once), youngest is generally wet through too although I get him up at least twice during the night- both SLD. Comes with the territory.
You get used to very little sleep after 14 yrs don't worry!!!!

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 08:16

  1. how in hells name do you remember your log in name?
  2. I am very used to lack of sleep but decided to moan about it this morning. I must be feeling a bit fragile Grin
  3. Burning the house down. I hope my boys never do that. (Both SN)

Hope everyone got a bit of sleep in the end, I was shockingly awoken by the 7am alarm in the end of the hens :(

Woodifer did anyone tell you that you would get no sleep BEFORE baby was born? Nobody warned me of that!

Hope tonight is better Tales :)

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 21:03

Thank you Cheshire, hopefully it will be better. (from a Lancashire Lass) Smile

Lol Tales, it's not matches n lighters here, its youngest trying to cook himself 13 eggs at 5am. (This happened recently).
Result= 13 eggs all over kitchen plus half loaf of bread mangled up, no good to anyone except the birdies, 2 rings on full blast on hob and over on full blast with day befores chicken left overs still in it what I was saving for the dogs.
this is quite normal in this house! which is one reason why I cannot relax and always have an ear cocked for any sounds. Eldest just doesn't sleep (he's awake up there now and will be all through the night)
You get used to it!
Did my degree on 3 hours sleep a night! My experiences with the boys held me in good stead for that at least haha. Wink

EttiKetti · 03/10/2011 05:30

Tales me and DH both sleep on the edge, probably why DS was such a shock to the system :o
It's been DD tonight, who now has tonsilitis! Deep joy!

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 03/10/2011 14:15

Well, last night was better but I'm still feeling the after-affects.

Deep respect to unpa for doing a degree during such sleep deprivation.

I guess I just needed a moan. Sometimes this extra SN stuff gets to me, sometimes it doesn't. I have sat on my backside all day and have approx 40 mins to iron uniforms for tomorrow, clean up, and walk down to school. Better get moving...

Thanks
