Hello. I have woken up with sore ears and a scratchy throat and runny nose - I fear a cold is coming on. Last time I had a cold I was admitted to hospital twice in 2 weeks. So am slightly worried now.

I'm awake too altho I'm in Germany so its nearly 7am. My DS's have been waking at 6 every day which is driving me crazy. So they both had a short nap yesterday, were running about like loons all day, stayed up late but you guessed it .... They still woke up at 6am!!! On a sunday!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! But DH is up for work so he can deal with them.

rednose it sounds like your DS has croup - horrid barky cough.

My DS had it earlier in the week, the Dr told me it's the start of croup season (4 other kids came in with it). I find steam doesn't work for DS but going outside does, plus sitting him upright on me.

Do you have any powdered turmeric? It's ace for tight constricted airways. A cup of hot water, a teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of turmeric. Stir, drink. Big easy deep breaths.

I have been awake since 4.30 (Again!) and am studying Juris-fucking-prudence.

Kids are with me this weekend so it's near impossible to get anything done.

And DD1 has offered to help tidy up this morning because she wants to bring 5 mates (so counting her and DD2 7 kids) in here this afternoon so there won't be any study done this afternoon
