...a small child to feed?

My son woke me up at about midnight (he's 6). Can I get back to sleep? Can I bloody hell.

Just a moan really.

Thanks, Tales. Don't worry, I'm not that organised either - only had to change the bed sheets twice, not every time he was sick. I feel for you having to get through tomorrow with three kids and no chance of a sleep.

CheshireDing · 02/10/2011 04:32

I have no children and I am awake! :)

First baby due in 10 days, I am roasting because it's not supposed to be 28 degrees in the UK in October Shock. We have chickens and a dog so never get a lie in. In fact haven't slept properly since I found out I was pregnant in January as feel like I have always been getting up for a wee ever since - and I never ever did that before.

Gutted my lack of continual unbroken nighttime sleep is over, baby better be worth it! :)

Sorry for moaning.

PerryCombover · 02/10/2011 04:36

I'm up as a giant spider has just walked over my head.
I thought that they were supposed to be more frightened of us?

2gorgeousboys · 02/10/2011 04:36

I'm up too! Got to leave the house at 6am to drive DS1 to a competition in the North East and was so worried about sleeping through the alarm that I've been tossing and turning since 2am Sad. Finally gave up and came down at 3am.

rednose · 02/10/2011 04:44

Small child to feed here- ds barking like a seal think it's whooping cough- I long for those weekends when we lay til midday!

Woodifer · 02/10/2011 04:48

Ah cheshireding i am another pregnant insomniac (35 weeks) - wide awake, great isn't it? Hmm

Toffeefudgecake · 02/10/2011 04:48

Barking like a seal sounds like croup, Rednose. DS1 used to get it. A steamy room helps (boil the kettle in there). Or going out in the cold, but no chance of that here tonight (assuming you are in the UK).

Eek at giant spider, Perry!

DS has stayed asleep for the last 45 minutes, so I'm going to attempt to get some more sleep myself. Bye, Tales. Nice meeting you!

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 04:53

Cheshireding sorry you feel so crap. None of my pregnancies were good. And yes, it's too hot. I've got my curtains open and I'm in the buff but if anyone can be arsed at this time in a morning to try and get a peep at me, they deserve the show Smile

PerryCombover is that true?

2gorgeousboys What's the event? Good luck with whatever it is!

rednose I hope it's not whooping cough. x. I had that as a child and it wasn't great. My son who woke me up coughing, has me worried as he's making a whooping sound. He has leukaemia as well.

I'll need to get him checked out asap I think. He's asleep right now but I'll see how he is in a few hours.

Lunchtime here (Singapore) and I am sorting lunch for DD2 (13) and a load of her friends who are doing a homework project together involving filming dressing up and having fun.

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 04:58

empirestateofmind nice to meet you. Singapore eh! Sounds very glamorous compared to Manchester Grin

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 05:00

Woodifer not long to go now. Then you'll get used to no sleep for months/years Grin

PigletJohn is BU for having flown back from Canada, you should have stayed here :)
I'm on the West Coast, near Vancouver. It's only 9 pm here. DS fell asleep cuddled beside me watching The Bee Movie, and now the Furry Feline Fatso has stapled me to the couch by sprawling on my lap. She weighs a bloody ton and there is no way I can shift her without waking up DS so I'm stuck for the moment. My only complaint is that I can't reach the tv remote and turn The Bee Movie off, or go to the kitchen and get more wine :o

muffinflop · 02/10/2011 05:10

I've been awake for an hour. Too hot to sleep and the neighbour dog keeps yapping! DH is out and not due back til 9am. I'll tell him the kids were up all night so I can go back to bed Grin

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 05:11

Jacksmania that has conjoured up a lovely homely image in my mind.

Isn't everyone in the wee small hours of UK Mumsnet quite sweet. Ahhhhh, I feel all warm and fuzzy now.

TalesOfTheUnexpected · 02/10/2011 05:12

muffinflop I like your style Wink

The Dawn MN crew can fuck off if they're so lacking in a sense of humour that they flame you for accidentally posting in AIBU. So there. :)
There, that's my warm and fuzzy contribution for the evening. :o

DS has just shifted the cat off my lap by stretching out his legs and booting her off me. However, I'm still just as stapled down, by his legs across my lap!

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2011 05:36

Jacks said the eff word! Teacher!

:o

I am getting pished and reading such important online articles such as "6 Gaping Movie Plot Holes You Never Noticed." DH and DB are drinking beer in the backyard and making a bonfire. And DH kept coming in and asking various questions such as "do we have any wire clothes hangers" and "where is the duct tape" Hmm and apparently they are attempting to take down some sort of tree limb. [Hmm] again.

I shall have to go investigate.

PeelThemWithTheirMetalKnives · 02/10/2011 05:39

I'm awake and DS is 21 :) and woke me up coming in with his girlfriend!

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2011 05:40

Oh, and DS is safely asleep upstairs, innocently unaware that the adults he lives with are total soaks. Blush

And take out one of those suches.

Interesting noise from outside...followed by DB's exclamation which, ahem, rhymes with Brother Tucker...followed by neighbor's dog howling.

All right, I'm really going to have to go outside and see what the jeff they're up to, aren't I? Sigh...

Jacksmania · 02/10/2011 05:42

Tattle tale :o

Ok, enlighten me as to movie plots that have gaping holes in them. I obviously won't be able to go to sleep without that knowledge.

The fucking cat just climbed back on me again Angry. I'm roasting here!!! Why do kids reach thermonuclear temperatures when they're sleeping? That's probably why the cat wants to be near him now, she avoids him like the plague when he's awake :o
But I find that a bit unfair (that he's so lovely and warm when he sleeps) because I'm always cold at night!

Jacksmania · 02/10/2011 05:43

Sorry about the gratuitous f-bomb Blush.

CheerfulYank · 02/10/2011 05:43

Here :)

Jacksmania · 02/10/2011 05:44

Dude, I didn't want to read it for myself, I wanted you to summarize!

Jacksmania · 02/10/2011 05:45

[lazy cow emoticon] :o
