My best mate had a tiny little brown-eyed brown-haired baby. Mine are all blonde. I WANT A BROWN ONE! The genetics IS there and if I keep going then I guess it'll eventually happen. But it would be a LOT easier to have hers.

Just offer to pop round and "give her a hand" when she comes home, then take baby, park backside on her sofa, accept a cup of tea and tell her you'll look after the baby while she gets on with a few jobs.

I have a huge basket of goodies for mum and baby, have also popped a ticket in there for 3 hours free childminding for her eldest so she can have time with the new addition to the family.

Its so exciting when a new baby comes along it is a sense of what life is all about.

When DS was small and we had other children round we told parents that they must take away as many as they brought in but they could take their pick and somehow we always got left with the same one. :(

Totally with you OP and Flubba. I saw a pic of my mate's newborn, so scrummy! Then I remembered I'd got one myself, only eight months on. He's still lovely, and much less aggro, but there's something about that fresh-from-the-ovenness that just demands cuddles.
