That is a brilliant book - it's so funny!
And Im of the opinion that anything that makes a child read, considering the falling standards in literacy, can only be a good thing.

peterpan99 · 26/09/2011 07:38

as long as they dont aspire to it then it'll be ok!

maxcliffordslovechild · 26/09/2011 07:38

They look really funny, having read the reviews may order them for my DD.

itisnearlysummer · 26/09/2011 07:40

Well the synopsis makes me smirk. And I probably would put my judgy pants on for anyone who actually bought it for their daughter...

But have to agree, if it gets a reluctant reader to pick up a book (especially one whose life isn't all ponies and private school), then it's done its job!

Illegitimate · 26/09/2011 07:40

Did you read a bit.Its not what you think, pull down you judgey pants

troisgarcons · 26/09/2011 07:42

Its about a girl from a slum estate who has aspirations to do her A levels and manages ..... what did the OP think it would be about?

Voidka · 26/09/2011 07:42

I know its not what I think - I read the synopsis and it looks better than I imagined - its the title that shocked me.
