cos some folk seem to spend their lives here

I feel I'm on here quite a bit, maybe 30 mins most days, but I'm a minnow compared with some posters

There seems to be loads of follow up threads about previous threads, does anyone really spend so much time here they get involved with all that??

OP posts:
mothmagnet · 26/09/2011 10:25

The more work I have to do and the more looming the deadline, the more I'm on here.

Hmm
fedupofnamechanging · 26/09/2011 10:28

I dip in and out all day. I leave myself permanently logged in, so I can have a quick read in between doing all the things I'm supposed to be doing.

becca85 · 26/09/2011 10:32

can i ask what does DDS stand for? i might be being thick but i dont know what it is:)

lolaflores · 26/09/2011 10:36

Don't want to admit it really. I do go round in circles though. and of course i think I am the funniest/wisest pair of hands heres about. Cept for anyfucker.

ah thank you

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 26/09/2011 10:44

Oh good, another thread about how superior the OP is because life doesn't revolve around Mumsnet. Or some such tosh.

Ridiculous.

I'd much rather chat to the witty and intelligent minds on here than fill my head with the drivel that's on television. I dip in and out, I'm a fast reader and a quick tyist (smug emoticon). I post a lot more than I should. Big deal.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 26/09/2011 10:47

It may seem like i'm here all day but in actual fact I have developed this wonderful little skill of being in two places at once. One half of me is sat on my arse with no life (according to laptoplover) the other half is swanning about meeting friends and going out to lunch.

I may share my little secret of my doppelganger life but it will cost you...
Grin

hmc · 26/09/2011 10:48

20 minutes - occasionally longer, some days do not log on. Novelty not there so much after 9 years. Did used to spend a lot of time on Mn in my early days when I found it new and novel

stepawayfromtheecclescakes · 26/09/2011 10:52

too long at the moment, newly redundant, disillusioned with the working world and not ready to get back out there, enjoy browsing and feel like I have a life thanks.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 26/09/2011 10:54

CoolWhip I stay on MN 24/7 (practically) while the TV is on Grin

My awesome new phone means I can be on here out of the house too

rycooler · 26/09/2011 10:55

A lot less time than I used to - maybe 2 hours a day 4 days a week (ish) - you get to a stage where you have seen it all before, so ditto what hmc said.

Shock at 9 years!!

sausagesandmarmelade · 26/09/2011 10:55

Tend to dip in and out quickly during the week days....

Ignore the bitchiness btw! Wink

SanctiMoanyArse · 26/09/2011 10:56

Varies hugely

Wekend- not, and evenings neither as a rule (DH away last week so broke that for a week)

Daytime- off and on as I do stuff. I don't have or want a phone that can MN.

VelvetSnow · 26/09/2011 10:56

DP asked last night if I was having an online affair!

Does that answer your question?

This weekend, with all the detective work I've been on a lot.

I pop in and out throughout the day while I'm at work and in the evening I pop on once dd is in bed because DP is watching shite on tv.

nokissymum · 26/09/2011 10:58

This is another one of those "why do you need to know ?" and "how does it affect you ?"

garlicnutty · 26/09/2011 10:58

hmc, you must have seen a lot of changes in 9 years?
I first came here about 6 years ago, received a Mumsnet welcome Shock - must have done something wrong! - came back 3 years ago and have been hopelessly addicted ever since.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 26/09/2011 11:01

Beyond - I used to, then realised that I couldn't concentrate on the TV while MNing, or possibly vice versa. Blush

Today I've been on for 2 hours now and I'm not ashamed. It's the first time in well over a year that I've been on my own, no DD, no DH, no work, no anything and am blardy enjoying it. So ner ner ner. I could get off my arse and clean the house but where's the fun in that??!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 26/09/2011 11:04

I've been here since I woke up, so maybe about two hours too, by the time I did breakfast etc. Am also still in PJs Grin

DS is playing happily by himself so I'm making the most of it. As soon as he goes down for his doze, I have shitloads of housework to do (gotta get my house up to other peoples standards for his birthday party!!)

Squitten · 26/09/2011 11:08

Before I had this smartphone, hardly at all. Now it's all the bloody time. Don't post loads but read a lot!

Have noticed that I start a lot of conversations with DH with "There's a really interesting thread on MN..."

SarahStratton · 26/09/2011 11:11

Now I have an iphone I confess I even MN in the bath. Blush

I love my iphone, it's the only way into the Narnia Quiche.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 26/09/2011 11:12

I only found that out about the iphones yesterday. I'm jealous.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 26/09/2011 11:13

I have been known to MN on iphone AND laptop at the same time Blush

I also start a lot of conversations with, "On MN today...."

I did start a thread about strange things you do while MNing but it didn't really take off

LadyBeagleEyes · 26/09/2011 11:17

I Blush to think how long I've been on this weekend.
All of Saturday night and most of yesterday, but in my defense I was on the mitmoo threads and still am Grin. They need to be deleted so I can get my life back.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 26/09/2011 11:17

So many conversations start with "on MN..."
Why do you think DH is on here too? Its so we can have a conversation! Grin
