to let ds watch more beebies instead of his nap

He is 2.2 and has just dropped his daytime naps. If he wasn't tired, he often used to just play in his cot for 1/2 hour alone and quiet. Sometimes he'd then drop off, or else I'd get him out. He can get out of his cot now, so there is really no point trying to enforce it by placing him back in up to 20 times.

I have an almost 4 month old too, and am finding the day just so long when there's no break. So AIBU to make let DS watch beebies for the time he used to nap? I feel so bad about more telly - he has been watching a lot more around breastfeeding and bedtimes so I can deal with baby.

Its either this, or get another double buggy in which he can sleep, because if I go for a walk after lunch, he will drop off. But money not really permitting atm.

How do ppl manage ALL day without a break??

DS1 stopped napping when I was 6 months pregnant. I used to stick the TV on for him for a couple of hours so that he could have a rest.

yanbu. he still needs "quiet time" at this age, and if the only way to facilitate that is cbeebies, so be it.

A rest is as good as a sleep. Stick the telly on and get some rest on the sofa with him.

All hail Cbeebies!
Go for it.

My DS sometimes naps, sometimes cuddles with stories, sometimes beebies, sometimes falls asleep watching beebies. Whatever gets you all through the day happily is good for me :)

not unreasonable at all. DS1 has watched far too much tv over last few weeks, am 38 weeks pregnant. to be honest better an hour or so off tv and a half reasonable mummy, than a stressed out, worn out grumpy one! (that's me not you by the way)
