Who turn up in their PJs are just lazy?

Why would anyone want to take their child to school in their PJs? It takes what all of 5 mins getting dressed??

Just seen a mum with black and white polka dots PJ bottoms on, fluffy ugg style slippers - they were slippers as they had bunny ears on them flapping about!! Hmm

Is it just me who thinks its lazy?

I've never seen it. But i think it's just weird.

And who are these mucky pups wearing bedclothes and slippers outdoors. How terribly unhygienic Grin

Well first off, my son wouldnt be wearing a ballet costume 'as in his words its for girrrrrrls'

secondly 'he can wear what the hell he like but he will not venture out of this house in his PJs. He can dress up as scooby doo if he wants.

So I'm assuming all the judgeypants are ok with people assuming a boy in ballet gear is gay, a girl in judo gear is a tomboy, a man in a dress is homosexual etc etc etc. Judging people on appearance is incredibly immature and small minded. We all do it from time to time but the mature thing is to question your assumption and try to get to know people before judging them.

OK, you are normailising something that I find socially unacceptable. My son wearing ballet gear wouldn't be!

I'd love a pair of bunny eared boot slippers. Would you mind asking her where they're from please.

I'd say 'son you're going to be judged on everything your whole life. Better get used to it now, and learn to brush it off'

see now, how is it un hygienic?

they are clothes, just made of different fabrics

In some circles boys wearing ballet gear is totally socially unacceptable baguette, and even in fairly liberal settings a lot of people will look oddly at a boy in "girls" things. A boy wearing a dress as a costume hurts no one but there are plenty of judgey people who'll make him feel bad about it as it's not the norm. There's just no point in it.

And so what if we all started wearing PJs all the time? Would society fall apart?

CailinDana - I agree judging on appearance is small minded, but unfortunately nearly the whole world judges on appearance, and always have.

Errm excuse me, where have i said a boy wearing ballet gear would be gay? You dont ahve to gay to wear ballet gear.

Plus there is a difference, at least they are putting the effort in o getting changed into that outfit.

I reckon PJ in public wearers wear their knickers two days on the trot as well.

Cailin just because some people on here are very happily admitting that they are judgemental on something VERY trivial like PJ wearing, it doesn't mean that they are stupid, nasty of homophobic. Don't be so absurd.

But but ? pj's are what you get in bed in! I wouldn't get in bed with my outdoor coat, or something I'd sat on a park bench in

And slippers are indoors only- I've always been funny about that one Grin

"And so what if we all started wearing PJs all the time? Would society fall apart?"

Yes because the vast majority of us would get sacked.

Slippers are indoors only, because what is the point of them otherwise, you may as well wear your shoes indoors.

And the school would ban nightwear.

Kids notice alright. My children notice that people compliment me in the morning, kids notice if everyone is dressed and their mother isn't. What is that mother doing all morning? What time does she get up? Get the dcs up?

The reason we don't swear at our dcs is that those words are socially unacceptable, the reason we don't do lots of things is that they're socially unacceptable is that they're socially unacceptable. Perhaps if people cared a little more about what people thoiught we wouldn't have town centres full of drunken idiots and gardens full of rubbish.

Pride makes a nation.

Boys' ballet gear is a vest and tracksuit bottoms, they are usually very strong and superb athletes/gymnasts, boys do not wear tutus.

Not sure of your point really.

Assuming people are lazy based on what they wear is no different to assuming someone is gay based on what they wear. You don't have to be gay to wear ballet gear and you don't have to be lazy to wear PJs outdoors. Assuming someone is gay is not homophobic GetOrf, as being gay is not a bad thing. Assuming someone is lazy is worse in my book as unlike being gay being lazy is a bad attribute.

The fact is, I wouldn't care, or even notice if someone was wearing Boden or M&S or Primark, or Armani or George. I would have no idea.

And I don't care if you have straightened hair or not, or if you wear make-up or not (I don't, not a scrap), or if your nails are done, or what bag you have or what shoes you are wearing and what they cost. I wouldn't know a Jimmy Choo if you smacked me around the gob with it.

But I would notice if you consistently turned up dirty, smelly, in a state of undress (ie still wearing PJs) and looking unkempt. There's a basic standard, isn't there? Going about in clothes in which you have spent the night is not the same thing as not being dressed up to the nines. I would think that someone who was not able to dress themselves was really, really struggling or had low standards of personal grooming.

My first thought when i saw the slippers GetOrf was 'oh i do hope she doesnt have beige carpets' as the slippers looked like shes being walking in mud.

Baguette you are deliberately missing the point. I'm talking about performance gear, which is obviously tights.

It's all about confidence isn't it really. If you have the confidence to carry off wearing pyjamas to school without becoming defensive towards those who have opinions on you wearing pyjamas to school then that's the main thing. You clearly do it becuase you want to so what's the problem.
