.... The prize actually should go to Argos or DFS - closely followed by Viking, Lakeland and then that company based in Stow on the Wold or somewhere....
I shake all the Sunday papers over the recycling bin before I read them.
If I ever buy a magazine in a shop I do the same - shake it and leave the crap behind for them to recycle.... my recycle bin overflowith... in fact - recycling is my life.
We get so much crap delivered either from the Postman or brought into the house as packaging on items I am happy to classify my occupation as a - Stay At Home Recycler - SAHR.... believe me, it is a thankless 24-hour a day job where you need to take a major decision on each piece of packaging...
Is it real rubbish or is it recyclable ? If so, does it need rinsing before putting in the bin or just jumping up and down on the offending item to ensure that it takes up the minimum amount of space - as it is going to be hanging around for at least two weeks before it collected by the Waste Operatives..
On a bad day, I have invited the Postman in - just as he is about the deliver the mail - and dispose of his offerings straight into the recycling bin...
I guess if I had a log burning stove or something I could recycle some of the paper rubbish by mashing it up with water, stir every second day and then mould them into neat brickettes .
... but guess what - life is too short...
