for instance my dd bought a beaded curtain for her doorway that he HATED. do he put up tiebacks so that he could have them permanently open. DD picked up on that and wants them opem, but with one strand down the middle so she can have an in and out door.... me, i want them closed because otherwise whats the point in having them!

You can tell which person in the house last walked by....

I love him but he does this sort of thing all the time... its his way or no way... dont even get me started on laminate flooring...my keyboard would explode!

[Hmm] YABU to want to stab your husband for whatever reason, though I didn't quite get from your OP what the reason actually is.

Cheria · 21/09/2011 17:34

I obviously meant Hmm Blush

Loonytoonie · 21/09/2011 17:35

Awful title OP. Annoying yes, but not to that extent.

beatrixkitto · 21/09/2011 17:40

stab? Really?

worraliberty · 21/09/2011 17:40

Then put them up yourself.

Sorted

worraliberty · 21/09/2011 17:41

Oh, that sounds like I'm telling you to shove them up your arse Blush

tethersend · 21/09/2011 17:44

I'm pretty sure that stabbing someone falls under 'compulsive behaviour' too...

CurrySpice · 21/09/2011 17:48

Why is your DH's behaviour "compulsive" but yours is just what you like?

Shutupanddrive · 21/09/2011 18:18

If it's dd's curtain on her door what does it matter which way you or DH want them? Why can't she just have them the way she wants them?

I know his compulsions have rubbed off.... the first 16 years of him were easy! its been the last 5 that are 'doing me head in'

Errr... Ha ha? Hmm

This is not really the forum to make jokes about stabbing your spouse.

Leave him, before your pointless anger explodes and destroys the universe.
Haven't you read Angry Arthur?
Let your daughter have the curtain however she wants.

andthisisme · 21/09/2011 18:25

DP had a friend who was stabbed by his partner.

He died.

Not that funny really.

andthisisme · 21/09/2011 18:26

Stab away. He may in return stab you for your shocking tights/Scholl sandal combo, but heigh-ho, flesh wounds make the heart grow fonder Hmm

Can I suggest instead that you relax find a marginally more MN-friendly euphemism for your understandable frustration!

Having said that, I have threatened to burn DH's every left shoe during a row over mugs left under the bed, so I have no moral high ground in this debate whatsoever.

I'm pondering whether OCD beats lacksadaisical.

hmm.

theoldtrout01876 · 21/09/2011 22:34

In my neck of the woods we use that expression all the time, most people I know do:o Someone annoys you hugely or pisses you off and the standard phrase when ranting to your mates about it " I wanted to stab them" or in really big rants" carve their kidneys out with a tea spoon" :o

Oh btw the stab them thing is shortened,it used to be stab them in the head

Gee on writing that down Im wondering what kind or circle Ive wondered in toHmm

trumpton · 21/09/2011 22:40

OOH !! Angry Arthur is on my bookshelf. I was so angry the universe exploded !!

Tewkespeggy · 21/09/2011 22:41

thanks old trout

i could not believe that a 'normal' expression kicked off so much hostility!

he's driving me insane.... But would anyone really stab thier husbands ffs?

I wanted a rant about his unreasonableness and how he always gets his own way - he wanted the doorway open, by using devious methods.

I guess this forum isnt for that!
