YABU for buying frozen cauliflower - it turns to mush when you cook it. Buy a nice fresh one and it's almost guaranteed to be broccoli free.

I once had an unexpected cauliflower turn up in my online Sainsbury shop. They wouldn't take it back either........

I'm pretty much living on brocolli and cauliflower soup and AandK is quite correct... I smell like dog farts.

DD found a tiny snail in the grapes earlier. I was haranguing her about making a fuss about an "unusual" grape but it was actually a snail.

I felt a bit guilty but then thought back to my parents who would probably have made me eaten it anyway rather than back down about it not being a strangely-shaped grape.

Raw cauliflower is lovely, cauliflower cheese and soup are lovely but watery cooked cauliflower is like being transported back in time to disgusting 1970s school dinners.

edam that's the whole issue with veg isn't it? Inappropriate cooking methods... I grew up hating HATING sprouts, but actually, cooked/steamed just right, they're bloody marvelous.

Frozen veg, no matter how beautiful prepared always has that wateryness of 80's school slop to it...

Only if the cheese used in cauli cheese is so strong it overpowers everything else and the cauli is hot but nearly raw.

The reason for my hatred of cauliflower? My FIL uses a pressure cooker to cook all of the Sunday Veg. Everything in the one pot.
