I'm the 'perfect woman' at the moment because I'm blonde and have lost my voice (laryngitis).

ARGHHH.

Kick him in the bollocks, then he won't think you're so perfect.

Andrewofgg · 14/09/2011 19:21

I won't suggest you shout at him . . . well, not yet. :o

redexpat · 14/09/2011 21:04

But you haven't lost your teeth! Grin

RedOnion · 14/09/2011 21:05

Jaysus where do you live? 1956?

Onemorning · 14/09/2011 21:40

YADNBU.

Crosshair · 14/09/2011 21:42

''Jaysus where do you live? 1956?''

:o

Cocoflower · 14/09/2011 21:50

Do you mean a husky voice or lost voice?

Its very important I know Smile

LordOfTheFlies · 14/09/2011 21:51

Have you got a flat head to rest his pint on?

theincredibequeenofwands · 14/09/2011 21:52

Your middle finger's intact, isn't it??

Utilise it!!

:o

takingbackmonday · 15/09/2011 00:01

The lost voice stops the vocal abuse.

I'm not the physical abuse type.

On the same not, if anyone tells dp he's 'lucky to have some quiet' (he disagrees and looks rather forlorn)..... growl

Ugh....I had a similar comment made to me by my ex-boss once. I lost my voice after a 4 week cough and he told me I sounded sexy...Angry. I didn't know what to do or say. Just sat there very embarrassed and didn't talk to him again until I got my voice back. Something very wrong about a boss telling you, you sound sexy.

Oh and YADNBU!! I would help you!

YankNCock · 15/09/2011 00:07

YANBU.

HipHopOpotomus · 15/09/2011 00:09

I used to get larangytis every winter - had all those "you sound really sexy" comments too. There is nothing sexy about laryngitis!!! There is nothing original about those silly comments mate!-

takingbackmonday · 17/09/2011 18:52

coco lost. entirely.

It's still gone. Has anyone had this before who can tell me if it will ever come back?

OP posts:
tallwivglasses · 17/09/2011 19:18

It will come back. Until then, express your displeasure through the medium of dance Grin

MangoMonster · 17/09/2011 20:07

It will come back. Take it as a compliment. Marilyn Monroe with the husky voice and all that.

Triggles · 17/09/2011 20:31

I literally had no voice for almost 2 months battling an ongoing throat infection about 5-6 years ago. Damn near drove me spare! Can't use the phone or anything. argh!!! You have my sympathies - it's maddening!

TrillianAstra · 17/09/2011 20:45

Jaysus where do you live? 1956?
I agree

LadyFlumpalot · 17/09/2011 21:01

This made me laugh. A lot. Grin

CurlyBoy · 17/09/2011 21:57

Perfect? You didn't mention if you can cook.... Wink

FromGirders · 17/09/2011 22:00

re all the "you sound sexy" comments.

Once, when I had a bad cold, a colleague told me "most women sound sexy when they have a sore throat . . . "

apparently I don't Hmm

takingbackmonday · 19/09/2011 00:59

I've used it to my advantage. I really need to be able to speak for my job so I've used it as an excuse to bugger off to France for a week to recover.

I would be happy with husky :( I still have absolutely nothing and have run out of antibiotics. argh.

Can't cook. Have lived off ketchup monster munch, redwine cheese and salad for the past few days.

I had a really bad virus in May and lost my voice. The kids loved it!! Even now if I shout (which is frequent with the 4 dc's) my voice goes hoarse again. I love singing and still can't reach the top of my normal range 4 months later. It is getting better..but it is really taking it's time. Persistant cough in May must have damaged the vocal chords Sad.
