For doing something, you dont go on about it all freakin' day.
DH did so (rightly so) but just wont let it go......he is in a mood and angry at everyone and FFS if the child has been dealt with, leave it for fuck alone

Now he is shitty at ME because after hours have passed, he came stomping downstairs to ask me in a horrible tome if I have had a word to ds about doing as he is told and after i replied "yes, can you just leave it, its done now" went on one yelling at me and saying I was talking to him like a child

AIBU to think that once done you should get on with it and not fester all day ?

Yeah, it should be over with as soon as you have disciplined them. After all the discipline is supposed to be for their benefit so they learn how to behave. So you punish them/tell them off because you must, but you don't love them any less for it.

No, not at all........DH is the same, maybe its a man thing Hmm
I pull him on it TBH in my best Jo Frost voice, seems to work for a bit.
My conclusion is, I'm with them all day and my tolerance levels are higher than his about certain things, he just wants stuff done.
Can be trying but, as I said to him today - you're the adult!!

festering is bad

DP is like this as he can never let it go until he ha exhausted himself. I have tol him countless times 'you are the adult' and openly laughed at how red in the face and blustery he gets. DD1 is 15 now and she will argue back with him but if she is calm she will ask him to talk to her calmly. It doesn't always work.
OTOH I have a fiery temper but once i have disciplined it is over, we might discuss what went wrong and how to behave next time but that is it. I try to keep discipline short and sweet
