to abuse AIBU to ask whether cartons of wine are likely to explode in checked baggage?

It's to settle a pointless argument, not to debate the sense or otherwise of taking cartons of wine in your luggage to a country where wine is freely available

I brought some cartons of wine back from Spain, they didn't explode thankfully.

BlowHole · 10/09/2011 13:54

They were in checked-in baggage, not hand luggage.

They aren't pressurised so will be fine,

I would have thought cartons aren't likely to explode as there is plenty of give in the plastic/cardboard container. Glass bottles are more vulnerable (though I've brought plenty through checked luggage) as the glass is rigid and can't adapt to changes in the wine's volume due to temperature and pressure changes in the hold.
