the polly pocket human in the corner who sulked in the corner instead of intellectually listening to the expert....infuriated me!

I just hope that the lovely lady who lost her son on flight 93 never sees the programme as whatever her name was was damn rude in the discussion they had on the bus after meeting her. Who the fuck does she think she is questioning whether or not it was her son she spoke to? That was when I really lost the plot about it.

Misspixietrix · 09/09/2011 21:40

exactly Fuzzy! I think any mother recognises their own kids' voice, how can you question oh well it might not have been him because he used his full name, think I might have used my full one too if my plane had been hijacked, in the split seconds if I thought about it long enough it'd be a wise idea to leave a record of yourself iykwim? they all just seemed very eager to talk not so eager to listen! :s

I saw it last night and just put it down to her age, not an excuse, but I know I could be quite twattish as a youngster Smile

No...really, it's true Grin

Even though I'd discounted the stuff they talked about, I thought I'd have a look in and see if they came up with anything interesting.

The thing I came away with was that the most credible conspiracy out of the lot of them could be that if the government did think murdering thousands of their own people would be a good thing, that they just sat back and did nothing after hearing on the grapevine something was afoot.

I suppose if they wanted a reason to have a go at various regimes it'd put a firework up the bottoms of the voting American public...

Sookeh · 09/09/2011 21:45

DH walked into me shouting "disrespectful little cunt!" at the top of my lungs at the tv Blush

I don't even swear usually.

She seemed like a nasty, thick cow.

I honestly don't think I've disliked someone on the tv so intensely before.

She's a nanny as well!

FabbyChic · 09/09/2011 21:47

Is this about 9/11? Shame I'd have watched it, it's not a conspiracy theory if you look at all the facts properly you would see it is more than likely the case that there was no terrorists.

Changing2011 · 09/09/2011 21:49

I'd love to see her testing out the explosive qualities of thermite. Didn't do much to the steel girder they tested but it would make a nice dent in her thick skull.

Sookeh · 09/09/2011 21:49

So who so you think flew the planes into the buildings then Fabby? Hmm

Kewcumber · 09/09/2011 21:51

Hmm where is the rolly eye emoticon when you need it.

I particularly liked the passing comment about how it was a great excuse to go into Iraq. Ummm... that would be Afghanistan. But they're both forrin so no need to be too accurate.

Kewcumber · 09/09/2011 21:53

They were remote contolled by Bush from his bunker.

I think the delusional aspect is anyone who thinks that a monolithic administration using advisors from the previous Bush era with a mindset 8 years out of date and departments that have no direct contact have the where-withal to orchestrate this kind of thing.

Sookeh · 09/09/2011 21:56

But Kewcumber, that's what they want you to think, obviously Wink

Fuzzywood · 09/09/2011 21:59

Hmm really Fabby? Who flew the planes then and can be heard on the air traffic control tapes? Last time I looked the US didn't employ suicide agents. I also can't believe tg government would turn a blind eye to th plot as an excuse to invade Afghanistan. I just can't believe they would allow the cold blooded murder of that many people, not to mention the kudos and confidence that would give the terrorists. I'm not stupid enough to believ everything the government tell me but really?!? Sorry no way. A complete failure of intelligence and lack of inter-agency communication absolutely. Bu not a conspiracy.

Sookeh · 09/09/2011 21:59

Thing is, my Uncle saw a plane hit the tower, he still has a lot of breathing difficulties from inhaling so much of that crap. He still has awful burn scars.

These conspiracy nuts actually enrage me.

I have looked at the facts, I've done a lot of research over the years and, oddly enough, I've not reached the conclusion there were no terrorists Hmm

Fuzzywood · 09/09/2011 22:01

Clearly I am stupid enough to not be able to type properly though Smile. I blame the Wine.

Kewcumber · 09/09/2011 22:05

My ex (with whom I am still surprisingly on good terms) was in British intelligence, he is now based (not for intelligence) in the place in Afghanistan where teh Seals who took out Osama bin Laden left from on their raid. He knows people .

He doesn't have any special insight into 9/11 but I have no doubt that of the number of people who would have to have been privy to such an enormous conspiracy one would have cracked within the last 10 years. I also wouldn;t allow most of his ex-colleagues to organise my 5 year olds birthday party.

I have no doubt there was a cock up - more than one person knew something might happen around that time. But they didn't talk and it was probably swamped by the 1000 other bits of chatter they get through. I have no doubt there has been an attempt to cover up that they were fucking shambolic.

But to be fair they didn't hijack a pile of planes and fly them into some populated buildings.

The blame lies squarely with those who planned it and did it.

Kewcumber · 09/09/2011 22:07

Fuzzy - are we going to cross post all night on this thread.

Or are you me in a parallel universe?

Fuzzywood · 09/09/2011 22:09
Misspixietrix · 09/09/2011 22:10

but that's another thing that's not the first time I've heard/read what Fabby said about no terrorists, someone needs to have a word with Al-Queda then because I vividly remember them happily claiming it was all their doing?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 09/09/2011 22:11

So is the thery that all the prior Al Quaeda terrost suicide attacks hoaxes then? 9/11 was just an escalation of what they had previously done.

I doubt that they anticipated the collapse of the towers (after all not much done in the way of research into what happens if you fly a jet full of fuel into a skyscraper) but I'm sure they were as delighted with the result as they are with the conspiracy theorists who think the dastardly americans did it to their own people for as yet unexplained reasons.

Kewcumber · 09/09/2011 22:14

He has some funny stories (mostly involving incompetance and setting fire to a jungle in Belize) and some sad ones (lost one of his men in NI and another badly wounded) but if I told you any of them I would have to shoot you.

AgentZigzag · 09/09/2011 22:15

I'm not arguing for any conspiracy theories or trying to wind you up Sookeh, but what was it that compelled you to do lots of research into what happened?

And why would it enrage you if similar people also researched what happened, but came to a different conclusion?

It's not disrespectful to look into what happened, what would be disrespectful would be not to keep looking when new information came to light.

If something did happen that deviated from the official line, the victims of the day would be owed justice by their story coming to light wouldn't they?

Fuzzywood · 09/09/2011 22:17

But what happened to all the people on the plane that didn't apparently fly into the Pentagon and flight 93? Are they all in on the conspiracy and living under witness protection or did the government land the planes somewhere then kill them all?
And as someone mentioned earlier, if this was a conspiracy wouldn't you make sure there was video footage of the Pentagon crash and recognisable pieces of of a United Airlines jet in Pennsylvania?

ShellyBoobs · 09/09/2011 22:19

Fabby, you are officially bonkers. Grin

griphook · 09/09/2011 22:24

I've never believed in the conspiracy thing, due to lots of many reason, mainly, it being a pointless and expensive thing for any government to do.

But while I was watching the bit with eggs and flour. it got me thinking. No parts of the planes were found due to impact which makes sense... but how did they find (intact) passports that were made of paper? I struggle with that bit. Does anyone have any ideas.

Fuzzywood · 09/09/2011 22:25

Zigzag I completely agree that the relatives and victims deserve the truth and if that deviates from the official line then so be it. Also I don't have an issue with people having a different point of view, my issue with some of the people on the programme was that they basically acted like my 3 year old DD when presented with infformation contrary to their beliefs i.e. stick fingers in ears and sing la la la. Plus their reaction to the mother of a victim of flight 93 was nothing short of disrespectful.
I'm, believe it or not, naturally sceptical but for me a lot of these theories seem to conveniently bypass any contradictory information and blatantly refuse to answer awkward questions.
