To be a bit annoyed that DH says I'm like the wife in Butterflies?

Remember the sit com? Basically, I'm trying to simplify mealtimes, so I only have to cook one evenIng meal. Children love tuna pasta bake, DH doesn't. So I looked in the books, and made a pasta thing with spinach and ricotta and stuck it the oven with the tuna bake.

It came out looking disgusting. I ate it, and it tastes okay.

DH came in from work, took one look, said "ugh" and said he was going out for a curry, because I'm just like the wife from butterflies. So tempted to pour it over his head.

Ah, but didn't she want to have an affair because her husband was such a boring fart?

shakey1500 · 07/09/2011 19:51

Are you lusting after a leather clad motorcyclist? Grin

Apart from that I don;t think even she attempted pasta with spinach so YANBU.

Yep. Raise an eyebrow and say you might just fuck a handsome guy you meet in the park if he doesn't appreciate you.

Don't cook for him, tell him to get ready meals. In fact don't cook for anyone who isn't grateful.

maddiemostmerry · 07/09/2011 19:52

I'm annoyed to realise that I am old enough to remember ButterfliesGrin

Tell him to cook the perfect dinner that everyone will eat.

meditrina · 07/09/2011 19:52

In Butterflies, they all ate whatever emerged - with good humour, warm tolerance and witty conversation. Tell him he has to live up to that!

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/09/2011 19:54

I loved Ria, tell him to cook his own fecking dinner. At least her family tried to eat her cooking.

cheesesarnie · 07/09/2011 19:54

in our house theres no choice if yoy dont like it you starve(or cook!).

sittinginthesun · 07/09/2011 19:56

Thank you. Have just read out your replies to DH. He would just like to point out that he is the better cook, but has had a hard day. He is going to eat it. Grin

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/09/2011 20:05

Still humming the theme tune "love is like a butterfly....."

Hers is still the only Mini I've ever liked.

sittinginthesun · 07/09/2011 20:10

Okay, he's had too mouthfuls, said "hmm, lovely, but I'm just not in the mood for it" and he's gone to get chips!

Oh well, will cross that one out of the book.

Thank you. You have sent me down memory lane

KatieScarlett2833 · 07/09/2011 20:14

I used to quite fancy the son who wasn't Rodney, can't remember his name tho.

goinggetstough · 07/09/2011 20:15

sittinginthesun snap I have had the pasta disaster too and the comparison to Ria's cooking. The similarity stops there though!!! It is a family joke here!

KatieS, I fancied him too. I have two boys, although they are not at that stage yet.

Loved the theme tune...
