lmao. he probably doesn't like cricket :P Stop ruining his fun

NarkyPuffinLovesDiane · 07/09/2011 16:58

In the past it would have been chat lines. Aimed at gay or straight men.

It's sky sports. Even during the day the golf advert they keep showing goes, in a movie trailer kind of way,
'There are many who are long, but there's only one longest on tour...'

For golf kit. Seriously.

NarkyPuffinLovesDiane · 07/09/2011 17:00

Channel 5 highlights are on early evening and sky highlights the next day (during daytime) will be dodgy add free.

The gay chat line ones actually had oiled up men dressed as builders.

HallnotOates · 07/09/2011 17:01

cripes! thanks for the warning.

sadly he LOVES cricket

NarkyPuffinLovesDiane · 07/09/2011 17:07

If he loves cricket the add breakes probably annoy him. If in doubt just sit in the room with him whilst doing something else. Or wander in and out. He'll fastforward through a couple of overs just to get it off the screen. The gay chat line adds were from channel 4/5 american football coverage in years past. They were very 'greasy YMCA' in concept.

HallnotOates · 07/09/2011 17:44

Let's hope

Late night tv has adds that are banned at different times of the day. They target the market. Sky Sports is aimed at men. Late night the adds are aimed at men.

Yes, it deeply fucks me off. Not as much as though. This is morning tv. I am a woman who enjoys football, but Sky make it clear through the stuff they choose to show that they're not aiming it at me. Their 'multi-room' and 'sky plus' adds show the mother and daughter recording other things - or watching tv in another room - whilst the father and son watch the football.

I wonder why Richard Keyes and Andy Gray found it such a supportive environment for their behaviour Hmm

NarkyPuffinLovesDiane · 09/09/2011 16:33

I think I know which ones you mean now. They were on during the American Football recorded last night. I checked - because of what you'd said- and they are pretty bizarre. Women on a bouncy castle in bikinis smiling and trying to be sexy whilst their eyes say, 'I wonder if 'Candy' would drop me at ASDA on the way home? I need some fabric softener and a white sliced...'

HallnotOates · 09/09/2011 18:13

those are the ones!
