Frankly getting a bit naffed off with the amount of these type of messages. Whats wrong with people for gods sakes.

I too have two just started school but to be honest I am not overly emotional about it, its the next stage for them, they have to do it. Luckily tho they are both excited and raring to go.

i think its more hilarious that little jane is playing up something chronic and mum is facebooking about it constantly, and how the school will now see what she has to deal with on a daily basis

my ds has just started today, he was in nursery at the school before but this is his first day of full time school. He was excited and ran happily in but i had a tear in my eye as i left!
I am sad because I like him and miss him when hes not here?

I was tearful when ds1 started school 3 weeks ago. I am not sad about losing control, I am not sad and worried I am not going to see him again.
I was emotional in a happy way because for my own reasons I am incredibly proud to see him growing up and going onto the next stage.
They do grow up so fast and these stages and milestones are bitter sweet in some ways.

YANBU BUT...
I was a bit anxious about my DS1 who is going to nursery for the first time today. I did put a little note about me not being ready for him to go yesterday on fb. DD1 and DD2 I was kicking them out of the door fine with, but DS1 is little, has speech delay and is not yet toilet trained, that is my concern, not that I am emotional about him starting IYSWIM?

He cried when I left, but ringing up a few minutes ago, he has settled well.

I think all the pictures up of the kids in their uniform is a tad annoying.

Well I had 2 starting as well. DD in primary and DS in montessori. I didn't cry because I am not a really emotional person. I don't cry at births, weddings or other milestone events either.

However I can understand people who do. If either of mine had been upset I probably would have been very upset as well (although not shown it to them). I was very proud of them both and then after I left them I was a little worried and anxious about them and whether they were OK. There are loads of people who react to emotions like pride and anxiety with tears so I can understand that.

Why are you sad? He's my last child starting school, a big milestone. Worry he will be happy all day, he is a very affectionate little boy. The fact it doesnt seem five minutes since I was in labour with him and he came out with a mop of fluffy hair. Sorry if thats too emotional for you but you asked

not grumpy nestafiesta just bored of all the drama queens. can't really get away from reading it, it took up most of the FB page fgs. Think i will give it a week or so then all will be back to normal

Why does someone feeling sad their child has grown up so fast and is not starting school and they will possibly see them a lot less (if a SAHM for example) make them a drama queen? I think ive really missed out having you as a friend Sparkle!

I must admit I came close to tears when youngest started reception but would not announce it on FB.
Its all the photos too. Starting school one are lovely but random years.

I'm not on facebook, because quite frankly I can't be bothered. I do however think you are being a bit hard hearted about this one. Mind you I even have a silent sob when I have to put away my DCs out grown clothes...

I felt more emotional when DS1 started Secondary school.

I DID cry when I left DS2 at nursery for the first time at 9 months. Now...that IS a wrench.

I am more of a blubbery mess at school plays and the like.

I am very hard but when each of my children started school, I cried (in the privacy of my own homw though - not on FB). It felt like a loss - they were no longer all mine and wholly in my control and never, ever would be again. I celebrate the fact that they are growing up but sometimes I can mourn the loss of the babies they were.

I didn't cry, for what it is worth, but I felt like it. It was only the fact that DS was so excited and ready that I didn't really. Although I did have a large lump in my throat the night before when he told me he was feeling quite emotional about starting school as it was such a grown-up thing to do, and did that mean we wouldn't have "little boy snuggles" now he was big?!
