you usually spend when you pop to the Co-Op on a Monday afternoon when you've run out of milk, and end up seeing a few other bits you need, then DS1 asks for a magazine, then you remember you wanted stamps, etc. I just want to compare and see if I'm spending too much on these outings. Thanks.

£37.43

shineypenny · 05/09/2011 18:39

£0.00 [GRIN]

TheMagnificentBathykolpian · 05/09/2011 18:39

Grin loopy.

I do this all the time. Go for milk, spend £20 and forget to get the milk

Flisspaps · 05/09/2011 18:39

We don't have a Co-Op nearby. Will ASDA do? If so, then around £30, about £25.00 of which is on stuff we could live without.

Deesus · 05/09/2011 18:40

Usually less than £20....

CamperFan · 05/09/2011 18:40

ASDA will do just fine.

£35

Nagoo · 05/09/2011 18:42

between £11 and £24.

DH has a spreadsheet. But it's not always monday :)

Nagoo · 05/09/2011 18:45

In the end I subscribed to the magazine.

Claw3 · 05/09/2011 18:48

I try to stay away from supermarkets inbetween shopping, otherwise i pop in for milk, bread etc and end up spending about £20 on bits i can do without.

I use the local corner shop, which isnt so tempting.

?3.40 = 1 bottle of full fat and 1 bottle of semi-skimmed.

My husband = ?51.26 fuck knows what plus milk

EdithWeston · 05/09/2011 18:53

Local cornershop - maybe £16 on a generous day.

eaglewings · 05/09/2011 18:54

Managed to pop to the co op for salt today and only spend 48p. This is a first for me, would normally buy a hot sausage roll, bottle of wine and other essentialscat the same time. Normal spend over £5

LineRunner · 05/09/2011 18:56

With or without the scratchcards?

SeniorWrangler · 05/09/2011 18:56

Typically £10 on reduced price bread, berries, a packet of toilet rolls, some clever thing for my box of last resort and some milk.

Laquitar · 05/09/2011 18:56

£20ish but very rarely i do. Thats why a big (if you have space) delivery comes cheaper.

Did you go near the alcohol aisle? Grin

KeepingUpWithTheCojones · 05/09/2011 18:57

I buy just what I go in for. Looking forward to the day I can casually pick up a bottle of wine or buy crappy educational magazines for the DSC.

bucaneve · 05/09/2011 18:57

Haha! my mum does this. She pops into sainsbury's for some bread and milk and comes back hours later with about 3 shopping bags full. So....she's started sending my dad. He comes back much quicker and having only spent about a fiver (usually buys cat food, some kind of posh breakfast item, and some orange juice) but only remembers the bread and milk about half the time.

LineRunner · 05/09/2011 18:58

I didn't mean it about the scratchcards.

FetchezLaVache · 05/09/2011 18:58

£4.22, but I was uncharacteristically restrained as I'm totally skinters atm.

StealthPolarBear · 05/09/2011 18:59

up to about £15

StealthPolarBear · 05/09/2011 18:59

actually you said a kids' magazine too...more like £25. Plastic tat free.

msbuggywinkle · 05/09/2011 18:59

About £10. Sainsburys usually, which handily has the magazines tucked in a corner.

Usually end up picking up sweets/other junk for the DDs, a Gu pudding each for me and DP as well as whatever we actually needed.

Does anyone else have a particular item they have a mental block about? I am hopeless at remembering toilet roll.

CoffeeIsMyFriend · 05/09/2011 19:00

hmm usually about £30.
