Or at least losing the will to MN for a few minutes, almost the same thing. Can you guess which ones? Titles were almost enough but the content made me a bit Sad and Shock and Hmm

worra - oh yes, people have strong views about fireworks (think of the animals!). And toffee apples.

spiderpig8 · 03/09/2011 15:35

I don't know what the point of a gazillion topics is when some people post everything on here, by simply prefacing it with 'AIBU'.
AIBU to

worraliberty · 03/09/2011 15:38

That's the thing

They have all year to think up a solution about their animals and fireworks.

Though my dog is as daft as a brush and thoroughly enjoys them Grin

Skippyboo · 03/09/2011 15:44

Hassled not TOFFEE apples? The contamination of fruit? With SUGAR?

Will somebody think of the children!!!

...kinda thing?

OracleInaCoracle · 03/09/2011 15:44

I'm looking forward to the begging threads "we have no food/electricity/presents... Help" along with a zillion reasons that all suggestions are unacceptable and a paypal address.

usualsuspect · 03/09/2011 15:47

Don't admit to using Aunt Bessies frozen roast potatoes and bisto gravy for christmas dinner and you should be OK

that one kicked off big time Grin

worraliberty · 03/09/2011 15:49

What about my pre-wrapped pigs in blankets? They're my only slutty vice Shock

Skippyboo · 03/09/2011 15:50

usualsuspect I think I'm able to imagine the carnage Grin

usualsuspect · 03/09/2011 15:50

If they are from Waitrose or M & S you should get away with it

ScarletLady01 · 03/09/2011 15:51

Oh dear Worra, I can only imagine which site.

I've been on a few over the years, I must say I find this place quite refreshing. I like forthright people Grin

Dare I ask what's so terrible about Bisto??

PivotPivotPIVOT · 03/09/2011 15:52

I love the christmas threads on MN.

Parsimonious types who earnestly boast about spending £15 per child. I spend more than that on wrapping paper.

There is a very funny post on the private school thread along the lines of 'if ypu are on a low income then private education didn't work very well for you'

I wish people on private school threads just admitted that it was about keeping their children away from working class types, and not about the 'wonderful teaching ethos'.

PivotPivotPIVOT · 03/09/2011 15:53

usual I loved tha 'aibu to be pissed off about being served aunt bessies roast potatoes at Christmas dinner' - it went on for hundreds and hundreds of posts. Grin

PivotPivotPIVOT · 03/09/2011 15:55

Worra read this www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1114247-frozen-roast-potatoes-are-for-emergencies-not-for-Christmas-day it sums up the Mumsnet Christmas Spirit.

worraliberty · 03/09/2011 15:58

Oh dear god Pivot anyone would think they were shoved in the corner with a pot noodle! Hmm

Skippyboo · 03/09/2011 15:59

Pivot that was me (the private school thread thingy) Blush

In other news, God bless Aunt Bessie!

SDTGisAnEvilGenius · 03/09/2011 16:04

Ohgodohgodohgod - I fed my whole family frozen roasties yesterday ON PURPOSE - I am a feckless and evil mother.

LadyBeagleEyes · 03/09/2011 16:09

I've also only been here since about Christmas last year.
What larks to look forward to.Grin

PivotPivotPIVOT · 03/09/2011 16:14

skippy that was a great post.

I love the way the OP said 'ACKCHERLY I am retraining as a solicitor at the moment'

Goodo. Perhaps her husband is a milkman or something.

Silly caah.

Skippyboo · 03/09/2011 16:15

I use Aunt Bessies Yorkshire puddings Blush

Hassled · 03/09/2011 16:24

And don't admit to being disorganised at Christmas, either.

Your brussel sprouts should be criss-crossed and on a gentle simmer now. You should be in a position to be feeding your homemade cake with Amaretto by now. And if you mention in early December that ToysRUs have sold out of the only toy your DC requested then it's your own fault for not having bought it in the January sales.

PivotPivotPIVOT · 03/09/2011 16:26

In fact, why are we all on mumsnet? We should be in the kitchen NOW making chutneys to give as gifts, pickling onions and preparing jellies and bottled fruits for the festive period.

Skippyboo · 03/09/2011 16:32

I'm "in the kitchen now", Pivot, does that count?

nickelbabe · 03/09/2011 16:45

I'm not in the kitchen because I'm at work.

DontShootTheDog · 03/09/2011 17:40

The 'AIBU to not shave my legs' thread. If anyone is interested.

I leave you for 1 hour and you run amock all over my thread.
