To be worried I m pregnant as I have 'lost' my coil?

Ok so the nurse, the gp and the gp s assistant can't find my coil.
Booked in for a scan but am really concerned I could be pregnant. Both 2DD and DS were conceived in first month! Pregnancy test too early and apparently coil if still there could give false negative! ( if not there where has it gone!)
So my 98.8% contraception may have failed me!!
Doctor says unlikely but Internet says possible!
Permission to panic!

Panic away - my coil disappeared a few months after it was put in - I was terrified I was pregnant as I also conceived the DCs in a blink. Ultrasound found it was still there, in the right place.

I like to think my uterus 'ate' the strings. Still working fine, just don't like to think how they will get it out when the time comes. Use other contraception in the meantime.

No NSF not helping but it did make me smile! Grin
Any big clues? I know I ve been there before but so not in that mind set!

God no - no clues - I really am not the one to ask - my periods had stopped about 9 months previously (the new type of hormone coil - Mirena?) and I didn't find out until 18 weeks Blush - so either had no symptems or put them down to coil symptoms apart from putting on weight

I am sure you will be fine. How soon is your scan? Have you had regular periods?

To be fair, DH and I have pretty much beaten every contraceptive method we have tried. I am currently waiting for his snip to spontaniously reverse Shock

my coil fell out, and I ended up with no.3 :) hopefully the scan will show it's stilll there! Do come back and keep us posted.

I have a wonderful 3 yr old DS because my Mirena coil went missing :) Never found it where it went, even after scans/x-rays Shock
