Where is the school uniform, I ask you?

6 pages of lovely clothes, but not one item of school uniform.

Gap are the same. Lots of talk of 25% off back to school stuff but when I look its all jeans and teeshirts Hmm

Panzee · 31/08/2011 20:39

I used to love it when nursery kids were sent in wearing Boden and its ilk. I always scheduled gloop play, puddle jumping and large scale painting. :o

Rooble · 31/08/2011 20:43

Some schools don't wear uniform. Surely those children wouldn't choose Teflon trousers and gingham dresses? You sound incredibly outraged about it - maybe "back to school" is just their way of saying "plan your child's autumn/winter wardrobe". Maybe?

CurrySpice · 31/08/2011 20:45

It's farcical I agree although a couple of the coats would be schoolish I guess

aquashiv · 31/08/2011 20:46

Anyone that would pay £16 for a pair of tights with no feet needs their head examined.

GloriaVanderbilt · 31/08/2011 20:47

Oh yes
I walked past Claires accessories the other day and it had a back to school promotion

I mean like that's JUST what kids will be needing for the new term

pamplemousserose · 31/08/2011 20:48

Some schools don't wear a uniform.

MillyR · 31/08/2011 20:50

Boden has lots of customers outside of the UK.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 31/08/2011 20:50

But if the school doesnst have a uniform why would you need to buy special clothes?

If they are wearing jeans and stuff you would have them anyway wouldnt you?

IwanttobeShirleyValentine · 31/08/2011 20:54

Back to school adverts are a piss take. Its just jumping on the bandwagon but they must think the nation is bloody stupid!!

Is it that TV ad for Staples office equipment - where they say everthing for your back to school needs then shows a printer at just £??.99!!

Makes me laugh as if some kid is going to turn up at school and say "morning Sir, brought my printer with me"

Whats that all about? FFS

GloriaVanderbilt · 31/08/2011 20:56

To be fair (and I'm not much feeling like it tbh) a lot of schools let kids wear whatever coat and shoes and so on. But that's about it.

We are allowed random coats despite everyhting else being tightened up to the hilt

Thank goodness for the coats
We had blazers with straw hats.

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/08/2011 20:57

Well in the glossy magazines they pitch it as your Autumn/Winter essentials - guess they think it sounds a little pretentious for children so just go with back to school.

But I love that back to school feeling and really wanted new folders and a pencil case when buying DS's today Blush

osd · 31/08/2011 20:58

I looked at mini boden for boys underwear non, but enough for little girls, very confused at that. And the price threw me as well.

TheArmadillo · 31/08/2011 21:03

our local clinton cards is advertising 'back to school gifts'

I haven't yet worked out what the fuck they could be Confused

pamplemousserose · 31/08/2011 21:18

My sil has clothes that are set aside as school clothes do they don't all get trashed.

MissBetsyTrotwood · 31/08/2011 21:25

DS1 has uniform next year but I did the opposite last year - I sent him in in the trashiest ones I could find because I knew they'd come back covered in paint/mud/the signs of a good time!

CurrySpice · 31/08/2011 21:26

*TheArmadillo" maybe it's a bottle of wine for the moms? Wink
