Disabled parking badges are for the designated places NOT where the hell you like

Really need a vent! Am sick to death of seeing cars parked in the parent and baby/toddler spaces just because they have a blue badge, and not a child in sight Angry The other way around and you wouldn't hear the end of it about inconsiderate parents etc. I fully agree with the need for the disabled spaces etc, but I don't like having to choose between leaving my baby locked in the car to return the trolley (especially if out of sight) and him getting totally soaked etc if I take him with me.
Disclaimer This is made more annoying for the particular store I am referring to as there are only 2 parent spaces, and more than a dozen disabled badge holder ones. Yet because the parent ones are in between the two sets, they use those and leave all the other badge spaces empty.

I don't like people parking in the set-down/pick-up spaces either - they're the closest to the door for a reason as well - and it's not so some lazy-arsed fat bloke can saunter in to pick up his crate of beer!

My father has a disabled badge and it is only used when he is in the car and needs to use it. When I pick him up from hospital appointments and stop off at the supermarket to pick up a few things I don't use the disabled space. If he's not getting out of the car to go in the shop why do we need to be near the entrance. It annoys me when people use the spaces when they have no need to and those in genuine need have to park further away or wait.

I think people are more slap dash in their opinion of personal attacks. You cannot for example say the/a op is stupid, even if they are as it may offend them. Yet many still get away with being disablist.

but I think I can still get away with......

Surely all the problems caused by getting babies in and out of cars are not caused by babies but by car seats.

LEAVE THE CAR SEAT IN THE CAR and problem solved. All this debate so people can lug a piece of plastic around which becomes utterly pointless and cumbersome the moment it is removed from the vehicle. I don't understand it. Babies are supposed to spend as little time as possible in them anyway.

I have always used a birth to four car seat. If there was enough space for me to get in the car I could get DD in - ie there was always enough space no matter what type of space I was in or who parked where.

Spectacularly unreasonable OP.

We have a disabled child and often have to park in the parent and child bay because so many twits with. Out blue badges park in the disabled bay, also often all the disabled bays are taken up by legit people

To be honest op you are a fool because how do you know from just looking at the car if someone has a child or not

But your right I am sure its more of a inconvenience for you to lock up your child while you get a trolley that someone with no legs getting all the way to the shop selfish selfish disabled people

How vert dare they

HowAboutAHotCupOfShutTheHellUp · 28/08/2011 15:45
