... firstly because it's been raining today, but mainly because it has now soaked the washing I have spent two days trying to get dry because I seem to be the triumph of hope over experience as it has been caught in 4 rainshowers
And 3rdly, their back yard is paved.
I am but AIBU? Not sure if I can be bothered to bring it in for the 4th time not dry, again.

Seems a bit odd to put a sprinkler on in a paved garden, after it's rained! Just one of those two things on their own would be weird, but both?!

Who on earth waters their paving??

There are certain chemicals for weeding that you can only put on in the rain, I took the pee in jest out of a neighbour for watering his garden in the rain.

Cue my red face. I don't know what in particular it was though.

So no of course YANBU, no one can know everything.

YANBU for being annoyed at having your washing soaked by your neighbours.

Do please pop next door and let them know that their sprinkler needs adjusting... and when they've apologised profusely, you can ask what the f* they were doing with it on in the first place!

Have they bought a motion activated sprinkler to deter local cats?

Sorry to post and then go out - but given the thunderstorms, very glad I brought the washing in. They have two cats so probably not that. Maybe it's for their grandchildren to play in. On the two and a half warm enough days of the year? Interesting to learn that about weedkiller too. I just smiled on the way out and said that they had watered my flowerbeds for me, but also my washing. Nothing exchanged about why the sprinkler had appeared. I've hung it out on airers, I think I'm beaten there!
